The headline figure—MX$734.56, up 10.07%—is not independently verified: the provider, prior target, calculation method and timestamp behind it could not be identified. Treat it as an unconfirmed reported figure, not a confirmed forecast. Other analyst-consensus snapshots for Toast (NYSE: TOST) available on October 3, 2026 were quoted in US dollars and showed different averages.

What the MX$734.56 figure does—and does not—tell you

The headline describes an alleged increase in the average analyst price target for Toast, Inc. shares. It does not refer to Toast’s product prices or to a target issued by Toast itself. The figure and 10.07% change could not be matched to a named data provider, so the underlying prior average, coverage set, calculation timestamp and currency-conversion basis are not established.

That distinction matters because a consensus target is an aggregation of analyst estimates, not a company forecast, a guaranteed future share price or individualized investment advice. Providers may cover different analysts, update at different times and display currencies differently.

How other providers’ consensus snapshots compare

Two provider snapshots available October 3, 2026 reported different US-dollar averages. They are separate calculations, not a single reconciled consensus.

Provider As of Analysts Average target Reported range
Benzinga Accessed October 3, 2026 28 US$41 Not stated by Benzinga in the cited snapshot
MarketScreener Accessed October 3, 2026 30 US$38.92 US$25–US$45

MarketScreener also displayed a Mexican-market quote of MXN 545.00 on September 25, 2026, while stating its analyst targets in US dollars. A quote in pesos does not establish that the targets were converted into pesos. Without the source and conversion date for MX$734.56, it cannot be compared directly with either USD average.

Recent analyst actions were mixed

Individual target changes do not by themselves explain the headline’s claimed consensus revision. Benzinga reported these actions:

Firm Date Prior target New target Rating action
RBC Capital August 31, 2026 US$36 US$44 Target raised; rating change not stated in the cited report
BNP Paribas September 2, 2026 US$38 US$35 Target lowered and rating downgraded

Investing.com also reported on July 29, 2026 that DA Davidson raised its target from US$28 to US$30 while keeping a Neutral rating. That earlier single-firm estimate is historical context, not the current consensus.

What company information can—and cannot—explain

Toast describes itself as “a global technology platform built for restaurant and retail businesses.” Its offerings span software, payments, financial technology and hardware. The investor-relations page lists Q2 fiscal 2026 earnings materials, and Toast’s SEC filings index lists its Q2 2026 Form 10-Q as filed August 5, 2026.

Those company materials provide business context, but the available sources do not establish that a particular Toast announcement caused the alleged 10.07% consensus increase. A target revision is an analyst-data change; it should not be attributed to a company event without evidence linking the two.

How to read a target revision carefully

  • Check the provider, publication or update date, number of analysts, average and range; consensus snapshots can differ because their inputs and timing differ.
  • Confirm the security and currency. Toast shares trade as TOST; distinguish US-dollar targets from a Mexican-market quote denominated in pesos.
  • Do not infer a buy or sell decision from a target alone. The figures are estimates, not promises or personal recommendations.
  • For the MX$734.56 headline specifically, look for the original data page and its prior average and currency methodology before treating the amount or percentage change as confirmed.
