Thermacell identifies LIV 2.0 refills as professional-grade 1.7 oz cartridges and says they provide extended, full-season protection for most home users. However, its June 2, 2026 launch announcement does not specify how many hours one cartridge lasts or give a standalone refill-pack price. The roughly $1,746 figure Thermacell cites is for a typical system configuration that includes refills—not the price of refills alone.
How long does a LIV 2.0 refill last?
Thermacell describes LIV 2.0 cartridges as providing “extended full season protection for most home users,” but its June 2, 2026 launch announcement does not give an hours-per-cartridge rating. The official LIV 2.0 product page also does not state a specific runtime. So, based on those sources, there is no reliable published number of hours to use for one LIV 2.0 refill.
Thermacell says the system can send refill-runout notifications through its app. That may help users know when a refill needs attention, but it does not establish a fixed cartridge runtime.
Do not use LIV 1.5 runtime figures for LIV 2.0
Thermacell lists a six-pack of LIV 1.5 refills as providing up to 600 total hours. That figure applies to the LIV 1.5 listing, not to LIV 2.0. Thermacell also says LIV 1.5 and LIV 2.0 repellers cannot be used together in the same Hub system; its cited pages do not confirm that the LIV 1.5 refill pack or runtime is compatible with LIV 2.0. Check the exact refill generation with Thermacell or an authorized installer before buying.

Why support-page hour settings do not answer the question
Thermacell’s LIV support page describes refill-selection settings of 40 and 100 hours, plus 180 hours for PROS only. It does not clearly identify these as rated LIV 2.0 cartridge durations. The page also says actual lifespan may vary with environmental conditions. Those settings should not be treated as a published runtime for a LIV 2.0 cartridge.
What do LIV 2.0 refills cost?
Thermacell’s reviewed official pages do not state a standalone price for a LIV 2.0 refill or refill pack. The company’s June 2, 2026 announcement gives an approximate MSRP of $1,746 for a typical system covering over 900 sq ft. That example includes one Hub, three Repellers, and a six-pack of regular refills, so it is a system price—not a refill-pack price. Thermacell says actual design and cost vary with site requirements, installation, and ongoing service.

Thermacell says LIV 2.0 is available nationwide through professional installers, and its product page describes installer-only availability. Ask an installer for a current quote that separates equipment, installation, service, and refill costs; the cited official pages do not provide a public standalone refill price.

A meaningful comparison needs both a confirmed LIV 2.0-compatible product and a published runtime. Compare:

Because the reviewed official sources give neither a standalone LIV 2.0 pack price nor an hours rating, a numerical cost-per-hour figure cannot be calculated from them. Do not substitute LIV 1.5 values to fill either gap.
