The Early Spring (早春晴朗), starring Jing Bo-ran and Sun Qian, was filmed in Beijing and Harbin, according to published location reports. The scenes presented as Tibet were reportedly shot at Beijing’s Chinese Ethnic Culture Park, while Harbin supplied the drama’s city landmarks, tavern setting and mountain scenery. The locations below are reported sites, not a confirmed exhaustive list.
Where was The Early Spring filmed?
Published reporting identifies locations in Beijing and Harbin. Beijing provides the characters’ workplace and shared-home settings, as well as the park used as a stand-in for Tibet. Harbin appears through landmarks, a restaurant dressed as the fictional Old Couple’s Tavern, and mountain locations used for scenes framed as a trip to Switzerland.

The location details come from published reporting rather than an official production itinerary. The reports do not establish that every site is open to visitors or that residential areas can be accessed by the public.

Chinese Ethnic Culture Park: the Tibet stand-in
The scenes that look like Tibet were reportedly filmed in the Tibetan village section of the Chinese Ethnic Culture Park, also known as Minzu Park, in Beijing’s Chaoyang District. The report says the production used framing and camera angles to keep modern Beijing out of view. In other words, the reported filming location was a Beijing park—not Tibet.

Beijing Kerry Centre and CP Center
Workplace scenes were reportedly filmed in real office and lobby spaces at Beijing Kerry Centre and CP Center, both in Chaoyang. The location account describes these as working environments used for the drama, rather than a workplace recreated entirely on a set.
Tiantongyuan East District 1 and West District 2
Shang Zhitao’s shared-home setting is reported to be in Tiantongyuan, at East District 1 and West District 2. These are residential areas; the location reporting does not establish access to private homes or residential compounds for visitors.
Harbin filming locations
Saint Sophia Cathedral and Architectural Art Square
Saint Sophia Cathedral and the surrounding Architectural Art Square appear among the reported Harbin locations. Local coverage says the crew filmed at Sophia Square the morning after a restaurant shoot.
Central Street
Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie), one of Harbin’s best-known streets, is also identified in location reporting as a filming site. The reports do not specify every scene filmed there.

West 13th Street restaurant: the Old Couple’s Tavern
A Russian-style private restaurant on West 13th Street was transformed into the drama’s fictional Old Couple’s Tavern. Reporting connects the venue with the Donghechang 1917 Wide Street Cultural Complex. Venue manager Wang Haichao told local outlet Life Daily that the crew began setting up on November 18, 2025, filmed at the restaurant on November 19, then went to Sophia Square the next morning before returning to the restaurant later that day. The outlet says the venue kept the fictional tavern sign after filming.
The accounts describe the restaurant and its connection to Donghechang 1917, but do not establish a current visitor name, access policy or opening status. Confirm details directly before planning a visit.

Junwang Mountain and Jinlong Mountain
Scenes presented as a Swiss ski trip and an aurora-related phone call were reportedly filmed at Junwang Mountain in the Jinlong Mountain area. The story’s apparent Switzerland is therefore distinct from the reported filming location. Hindustan Times identifies Jinlong Mountain as the production’s final filming location and says filming wrapped on November 26, 2025; local outlet HRB Blue Net also reported the wrap at Jinlong Mountain on November 25, 2025.

How The Early Spring performed on Netflix
Netflix reported that the series debuted at No. 2 on its Global Non-English TV list for August 24–30, 2026, with 2.4 million views and 21.5 million hours viewed. Netflix also said it entered the weekly Top 10 in 22 markets and topped its weekly TV charts in Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. These are Netflix’s figures for that week, not an all-platform or cumulative audience total.
