The Boba Teashop – Refill is a first-person psychological horror game announced for a 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It follows Maya, a young woman who takes a job at a new branch of Risa’s boba shop, where ordinary drink-making routines become increasingly unsettling. The PlayStation Store has not announced an exact release date.
When is The Boba Teashop – Refill coming out?
The announced launch window is 2027. The announcement names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, with PC availability planned through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Storefront status is not the same as a dated release: the PlayStation Store listing says the date is to be determined, while the Epic Games Store lists the Windows game as coming soon.
The available announcement information does not state a price or confirm a physical edition.

Maya is under financial pressure when she takes a job at a newly opened branch of Risa’s boba business. The shop initially has the welcoming atmosphere of a familiar workplace: warm lighting, colorful drinks and the sounds of a busy counter. That everyday setting becomes the source of the tension as difficult customer interactions, negative reviews, uncomfortable conversations and strange noises disrupt the routine.

The developers describe Refill as a standalone story in the original game’s world, with a new protagonist, location and narrative. They say players do not need to know the first The Boba Teashop to follow it.
How does the gameplay work?
The central activity is preparing and serving drinks. Players take orders, follow recipes, combine tea, milk, boba and other ingredients, seal each drink and serve it. The developers also describe cleaning the shop and trying to keep customers happy as part of the job.

How long does the story span?
The developers said in an interview that Maya’s story covers one week. Storefront descriptions use the broader wording “multiple workdays,” rather than specifying a duration.

Which guest characters are included?
Published listings do not give a completely consistent guest roster, so the names are best read with their source attached:
| Source | Guest names it lists or mentions |
|---|---|
| Epic Games Store listing | Yotobi, Knite, Kodomo and Suzi Hunter (The Sphere Hunter) |
| PlayStation Store listing and Gematsu announcement summary | Yotobi, Knite and Suzi Hunter (The Sphere Hunter); they also mention Hideki from BrokenLore and the series creator |
| Developer interview | Yotobi, Knite and Suzi Hunter (The Sphere Hunter) |
Because the Epic listing includes Kodomo while the PlayStation listing and announcement summary emphasize other names, these references should not be treated as one confirmed, exhaustive cast list.

How is Refill connected to the original game?
The developers said work on Refill began in 2025 as a collaboration with Mike Ten, creator of the original The Boba Teashop. They characterize the new game as neither a direct sequel nor a recreation, but a separate story in the same world.
The developers also describe full voice acting, facial animation and a more cinematic presentation than the original. Those are announced creative features, not a substitute for hands-on evaluation of the finished game.
