Hardware-dependent features
Do not assume every Snipping Tool feature appears on every PC. Microsoft says Perfect screenshot is “only available on a Copilot+ PC.” The color picker is likewise documented as limited to Copilot+ PCs. If those controls are missing, that is a hardware eligibility issue rather than a damaged installation. Standard captures, editing and the documented OCR workflow remain the relevant capabilities for other supported Windows systems.
When Snipping Tool is the wrong fit

Important scrolling limitation
Greenshot’s official page specifically describes scrolling web-page capture from Internet Explorer. Do not treat that statement as a guarantee of universal scrolling capture in modern browsers or every application. The Snipping Tool shortcut does nothing

The screenshot is blank or captures the wrong window

Scrolling capture stops early

OCR returns incomplete text
