The best Peacock alternative depends on what you watch: Netflix is a strong starting point for originals and a broad mix of shows, HBO Max for HBO programming and films, and Disney+ with Hulu for a blend of franchise, family, and general-entertainment titles. Prime Video suits viewers who want rentals, purchases, and optional subscriptions in one app. Before switching, check Peacock’s tiers: its cheapest Select plan excludes movies, sports, and Peacock Originals, so it is not equivalent to full Peacock.

Catalogs change, so search each service for the shows and films you actually watch before choosing. Service availability can also differ by location and device; verify both for your setup.
What to compare before replacing Peacock
- Your actual watchlist: Check the named movies and series you care about, not a general catalog-size claim.
- Originals versus licensed titles: Decide whether you primarily want exclusive new programs or a rotating selection of familiar movies and shows.
- Live viewing: If you use live sports, news, or events, confirm those are included in the specific service and plan. A movie-and-series catalog is not automatically a replacement for live programming.
- Ads: Compare the ad-supported and ad-free options, including any exceptions. A higher-priced tier may still show ads in some content.
- Total cost: Compare monthly and annual rates, bundle terms, and any separate add-on fees. An inexpensive entry plan may omit the content that made you subscribe.
- How you access it: Check regional and device support. If using an aggregator such as Prime Video, identify which channels are included and which require another paid subscription.
Peacock’s current U.S. plans and prices
As displayed on Peacock’s U.S. plan page on October 4, 2026, the service has three tiers. Peacock’s official price notice says these subscription prices took effect August 18, 2026.

For existing subscribers, the new subscription rate applies on the first billing date on or after September 17, 2026. Existing annual plans and active promotions remain at their old price until they expire. Apple TV/Peacock bundle prices changed September 1, 2026; existing subscribers move to the new price at a billing date on or after October 1, 2026. Check your account for the amount that applies to your subscription.

How Prime Video works as an alternative
Prime Video can be useful if you want one app to browse included programming alongside rentals, purchases, and optional channel subscriptions. Amazon says U.S. users can access more than 100 streaming subscriptions and more than 900 free ad-supported channels through Prime Video. Those figures describe the available options, not content included free with a Prime Video subscription: add-on subscriptions are paid separately, while rentals and purchases also have their own charges.

How to choose without paying for the wrong catalog
- Write down your must-watch titles. Look up each show or movie on the services you are considering; availability changes over time.
- Mark live requirements. If you need sports, news, or events, verify that the platform and plan include the live programming you watch.
- Compare the exact tier. Check ads, downloads, annual billing, bundles, and add-ons—not just the service name or lowest advertised price.
- Verify price and access. Confirm current rates on the provider’s page and check availability for your country and devices.
- Choose one service to fill the gap. If no single service covers your watchlist, compare the cost of a bundle or a second subscription against the value of the titles you will actually watch.
