As of Mashable’s September 29, 2026 report, most configurations of the latest iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro were only $30 off. Mashable expected the iPad mini to drop to $529 for Amazon’s October event, but that was a forecast—not a confirmed deal. Check the exact listing and price before buying.
What iPad discounts were reported before Prime Big Deal Days?
Mashable tech writers Haley Henschel and Samantha Mangino reported on September 29 that most configurations of the latest iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro were $30 off. That is a dated price snapshot, not confirmation that those offers remain available on October 3 or will continue through the event. Read the syndicated Mashable deal report.
The strongest specific prediction in the report concerns the iPad mini: Mashable expected it to reach $529 during the 2026 event, compared with a stated usual price of $599. The writers cited a $70 iPad mini discount during Prime Big Deal Days 2025 as historical context. Neither that prior discount nor the $529 forecast guarantees the 2026 price.

Amazon says Prime Big Deal Days runs for 48 hours, beginning October 6, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. PDT and ending October 7. Event deals require Prime membership. Amazon has also announced eligible early offers, but its early-deals overview does not confirm that an iPad offer is live. See Amazon’s event announcement and its early-deals overview.

Should you buy an iPad now or wait?
If the iPad you want is only $30 off, waiting until October 6 is reasonable if you can do so: Mashable’s report described modest early discounts and anticipated a lower iPad mini price. But the mini forecast is not a live offer, and the available report does not establish that every configuration will get a deeper cut. Buy based on the verified price and configuration in front of you, not a predicted sale price.
For a particular listing, match the generation, screen size, storage, and Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity to the iPad you intend to buy. A discount on a different configuration is not a like-for-like comparison.

How to check whether an iPad deal is worthwhile
- Open the exact product listing. Confirm the model generation, size, storage capacity, and connectivity option; then check the current price and whether the offer is actually available.
- Compare its price history. Amazon says its Price History feature can show up to 365 days of pricing insights on hundreds of millions of products, where available. Use the chart for the specific listing rather than assuming the feature or a particular price history exists for every iPad.
- Recheck during the event. Amazon’s dates are October 6–7, but availability and prices can change. Verify the listing when you are ready to purchase.
The September 29 report does not provide enough configuration-level detail to rank the iPad, mini, Air, and Pro against one another or to establish a best model for a particular buyer. It does identify the iPad Air among the lines with reported early discounts; check the current iPad Air listings for the exact model and price.
