As of RTINGS’ guide update dated September 29, 2026, the overall claw-grip pick is the Pulsar X2 CrazyLight. RTINGS credits it with a compact body, a low hump, a fairly wide middle, a low measured weight, and strong sensor and click-latency results, which is why it suits small and medium hands best. It is a reviewer’s current choice, not a guarantee that it will fit your hand. The rest of this article explains how claw grip affects fit, how the ranking is built, and what to check before buying.
What claw grip asks of a mouse
Claw grip is a posture that blends palm and fingertip contact. The palm rests lightly on the mouse, while the fingers arch forward and make the clicks and small corrections. RTINGS associates the posture with fast movements and quick adjustments, which is why shape matters more here than it does for a fully relaxed palm grip.
Logitech G’s guidance on gaming mouse shapes puts the goal in terms of control: “Claw grip gives you a balance of speed and control, so you can accurately track your enemies without having to sacrifice speed.” That is the manufacturer’s own description of the grip, not an independent test result. Logitech’s general selection advice for claw users is a medium-size mouse with a hump toward the middle of the rear and a lightweight design. Treat those as starting points, not rules.

How to choose a claw-grip mouse
Fit should decide the shortlist before any specification does. Compare candidates on these axes, roughly in this order:

- Hand size and posture fit. Small and medium hands generally suit compact bodies; larger hands need more palm support and length.
- Hump height and placement. A hump toward the rear of the mouse supports the arched-finger posture; a hump that sits too far forward can cause the grip to feel cramped.
- Width, length and weight. Lighter mice are easier to move quickly, but very light bodies can feel less planted for some users.
- Connectivity and battery. Wireless models remove cable drag; their batteries need regular charging, so check the charging routine you can live with.
- Build quality and feet. Stock feet and shell quality affect glide and long-term feel.
- Sensor, polling and latency. These are useful secondary filters. They rarely decide which mouse feels better in the hand.
- Availability and price category. A model that is out of stock in your region is not a practical option, whatever its rank.
Logitech also recommends testing comfort during longer sessions, not only in a few minutes at a desk.
The current ranking at a glance
RTINGS’ September 29, 2026 update added upper-mid-range and lower-mid-range categories, moved Ninjutso Sora V2, made Pulsar X2 CrazyLight the overall top pick, changed the mid-range pick to Hitscan Hyperlight because Scyrox V8 was not available, and named MCHOSE L7 Pro its budget pick. RTINGS says its picks account for price, reader feedback and availability.

Model notes
Pulsar X2 CrazyLight: overall pick
RTINGS’ top pick works especially well for small or medium hands because of its compact shape and low hump. Its fairly wide middle gives the palm somewhere to settle. The reviewer also points to low measured weight and strong sensor and click-latency performance. Its trade-offs are a small battery that needs frequent charging, an open underside that can let in dust and debris, and limited palm support for some larger hands. If your hand is large or you dislike charging often, rank it lower.
Rank #2

Ninjutso Sora V2: upper mid-range
RTINGS moved this model into the upper mid-range tier in its September 29, 2026 update. The guide excerpt reviewed did not give enough detail to summarize its shape or measurements here, so check RTINGS’ full review page for specifications and current availability before shortlisting it.
Hitscan Hyperlight: mid-range
This is the mid-range pick in the current guide. RTINGS chose it after Scyrox V8 became unavailable at the time of the update. Because that choice was driven by stock, confirm that the Hyperlight is sold where you live before treating it as a current recommendation.
Endgame Gear XM2 8k: lower mid-range
The same update moved this model to the lower mid-range. It is a reasonable option when the upper tiers are out of budget. Its shape and weight are not summarized in the sources reviewed for this article, so compare its dimensions with your hand before ordering.

RTINGS names this its budget claw-grip pick. Its wireless design, lighter and smaller body, compact shape and rear-positioned hump are particularly suited to smaller hands or aggressive claw posture. The trade-off is less solid build and lower-quality feet than pricier options, which matters most for long-term durability and glide.
Rank #3
- HERO Gaming Sensor: Next generation HERO mouse sensor delivers precision tracking up to 25600 DPI with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration
- 11 programmable buttons and dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel: The Logitech wired gaming mouse gives you fully customizable control over your gameplay
- Adjustable weights: Match your playing style. Arrange up to five 3.6 g weights for a personalized weight and balance configuration
- LIGHTSYNC technology: Logitech G LIGHTSYNC technology provides fully customizable RGB lighting that can also synchronize with your gaming (requires Logitech Gaming Software)
- Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: A metal spring tensioning system and metal pivot hinges are built into left and right computer gaming mouse buttons for a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click feedback
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2: notable alternative
RTINGS calls its shape forgiving enough to suit nearly all hand sizes and grip types. It is typically more expensive than the mid-range and budget picks, and its stock feet are weaker. Logitech independently lists it as a popular claw-grip option. It is a sound alternative for buyers who prioritize shape tolerance over price, but it is not RTINGS’ top pick.
Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed: manufacturer-positioned option
Razer describes this mouse as optimized for claw or fingertip grip. That is Razer’s positioning; the sources reviewed here do not give an independent reviewer placement for it. The Razer page reviewed was for Singapore, so confirm the local model variant, pricing and stock before recommending it to a buyer in another market.

The 38.3 g figure is RTINGS’ measured default weight for the configuration it tested. Pulsar’s official PRX Edition page describes a related product, the X2 CrazyLight Mini, with these specifications:
- Dimensions: 115.6 mm long × 61 mm wide × 36.6 mm high
- Weight: 36 g with dot skates, 38 g with regular skates, both without cable
- Sensor: Pulsar XS-1, 32,000 DPI, 750 IPS, 50 g acceleration
- Polling: up to 8,000 Hz; the 8K dongle has separate system requirements listed on the same page
These figures describe a different product variant and skate setup from the RTINGS measurement, so do not treat them as interchangeable. The PRX Edition is co-branded with Paper Rex. It is a collectible-oriented version, but its documented purpose is still gaming mouse use, and the specifications above apply to that variant.
Limits of this ranking
- The ranking reflects one reviewer’s current picks and can change with each update.
- No independent, market-wide statistic on claw-grip mouse performance was established in the sources reviewed, so none is cited here.
- The vendor quotation above is Logitech G’s own marketing language. Read it as the manufacturer’s position.
- Prices, stock and retailer listings were not verified for every model and may differ by country.
Before you buy
- Measure your hand length from the wrist crease to the middle fingertip, and note whether your palm contact is light or firm. Smaller, lighter-contact hands usually fit the compact picks; larger or firmer palms need more length and palm support.
- Shortlist two or three models from the table that match your hand size and budget, then check their current stock in your country.
- If you are considering the Pulsar X2 family, confirm which variant and skate set you are buying, and compare its weight against the variant’s own listing rather than the RTINGS figure.
- Check how you will charge a wireless model. A short charging interval suits a nightly routine; a longer battery may suit a weekly one.
- Test comfort in longer sessions if the retailer or your own setup allows it, and return the mouse if the hump or palm fit feels wrong after a few hours.
For readers who asked the common version of this question, “What mouse would you suggest for me?”, the most useful answer starts with hand size and grip style, then narrows by budget and availability. The ranking above is a starting point for that process.
