Best Buy has the Apple AirTag (2nd generation) four-pack for $89, $10 below its $99 list price, as checked October 3, 2026. That works out to $22.25 per tracker before tax or shipping. It’s a worthwhile bundle if you have several Apple-device-compatible belongings to tag; if you need only one, compare the current single-tag price before buying four.
The offer is at Best Buy. Tom’s Guide reported that Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are scheduled for October 6–7, so this Best Buy price is ahead of that event. The retailer’s price and stock can change.
What you save on the AirTag four-pack
Apple lists the second-generation four-pack at $99, the same comparable value shown on Best Buy’s listing. At Best Buy’s observed $89 price, you save $10, or about 10.1%, and pay $22.25 per tag before taxes or shipping. That is a modest discount per tracker, not a reason to buy extras you will not use. The four-pack makes sense if you have several items to keep track of—such as keys, luggage, or a bag. For a single item, Apple lists one AirTag at $29, while Tom’s Guide reported an Amazon single-tag offer at $24 in its October 2 update. That single-tag deal is a different pack size, and its price may change; it does not confirm an Amazon four-pack offer.

Is $89 the Amazon price, too?
No current Amazon four-pack price is established here. MacRumors reported an $89 Amazon price on July 20, 2026, down from $99 and matching a low it had tracked during Prime Day. That is historical context, not confirmation of Amazon’s price on October 3. The live offer described here is Best Buy’s.
Tom’s Guide reported on October 2 that Prime Big Deal Days will run October 6–7, 2026, as a 48-hour, Prime-member-focused event. That makes the Best Buy offer a pre-event deal; the event timing is as reported by Tom’s Guide, not an Amazon announcement.

What’s new in the second-generation AirTag
Apple announced the second-generation AirTag in January 2026. It uses a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and an upgraded Bluetooth chip. Apple says Precision Finding can guide users from up to 50 percent farther away than the previous generation, while the speaker is 50 percent louder and can be heard from up to twice as far. These are comparisons with the prior generation, not fixed-distance guarantees; Apple does not state an absolute Bluetooth range in the cited announcement.

Precision Finding combines haptic, visual, and audio feedback. Apple says it is available for the first time on Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later when running watchOS 26.2.1.

Compatibility and how location works

Setup requires a compatible iPhone running iOS 26 or later, or an iPad running iPadOS 26 or later, plus an Apple Account and iCloud sign-in. Some features require Find My. Check Apple’s AirTag announcement for the stated requirements and feature details.
Finding an item beyond Bluetooth range
When an AirTag is out of range of its paired iPhone, Apple’s Find My network can use nearby Apple devices to detect it and report an approximate location to its owner. That can help locate a misplaced object, but it is not a guarantee of recovery or a live, precise location in every circumstance.

Apple says Find My location data and history are not stored on the AirTag and that Find My communications are end-to-end encrypted. Apple also describes cross-platform alerts and frequently changing Bluetooth identifiers as safeguards against unwanted tracking. The company says AirTag is designed exclusively for tracking objects; it should not be used to track people or pets.
AirTag for luggage: what sharing can and can’t do
Apple’s Share Item Location feature lets an owner temporarily share a misplaced item’s location securely with trusted third parties, including participating airlines. Apple says it has partnered with more than 50 airlines. It cites SITA as reporting 26 percent fewer baggage delays and 90 percent fewer “truly lost” or unrecoverable luggage incidents among participating carriers. Those are reported carrier outcomes, not a promise about an individual trip. Apple says shared access ends when the item is reunited, can be stopped by the owner, and expires after seven days.
Do you need to buy a key ring or case?
A holder is optional and sold separately. Apple’s FineWoven Key Ring is compatible and was listed at $35 in the January 2026 announcement; Best Buy also lists compatible cases and key rings. If you already have a suitable holder, there is no need to add one to get the four-pack. Best Buy’s listing identifies a replaceable CR2032 battery; a new pack does not call for an immediate replacement battery purchase.
