The AION UT has a low launch price in China, but that is not the price an overseas buyer can assume they will pay. Local prices, specifications, taxes, incentives and warranty support vary by market. Whether it is affordable depends on the version sold where you live and the actual price you can buy it for.
What does the AION UT cost?
There is no single international AION UT price. The official figures available for China, the UK, Greece and the Philippines describe different markets, dates and offers, so they should not be ranked as though they were equivalent drive-away prices.

These figures may reflect different taxes, trim levels, delivery conventions and incentive rules. Before deciding whether the car is cheap enough, ask a local dealer for the current price of the specific trim, with mandatory fees and any incentive shown separately.

Why the China price does not settle the question
GAC AION launched the UT in China at RMB 69,800–101,800, with a 100 kW motor and up to 420 km of CLTC range. That establishes the price and specification announced for that market; it does not establish what the car costs after export, local approval, taxes, registration, distribution and warranty provision elsewhere. Use a local, like-for-like transaction price instead of converting the Chinese launch price into another currency. An imported car’s landed cost and a locally supported retail car are not necessarily comparable, and the published figures above do not provide a common basis for calculating either.
Which AION UT are you comparing?
The model name does not guarantee the same battery, motor or range in every country. GAC’s cited Philippine specification lists a 44.12 kWh LFP battery, 100 kW motor, 400 km NEDC range, 440 L trunk and 64 kW maximum DC charging. The Philippines announcement also specifies an EU charger standard. GAC Philippines

When comparing cars, use the same test cycle where possible, and treat any official test range as a standardized figure rather than a promise of real-world distance. What else to check before calling it good value
- Price you will actually pay: Get a written local quote for the trim and options you want. Separate the vehicle price, mandatory charges and any incentive.
- Incentive terms: Confirm that the offer is still live, that the exact vehicle qualifies, and that you personally meet the application rules. The Greek discounted figure is conditional and limited; the Philippine introductory offer ended on 30 June 2026.
- Equipment and safety: Compare standard equipment on the local trim with alternatives at the same transaction price. Do not assume another market’s equipment list applies to your car.
- Charging: Check the local connector and charging standard, maximum DC charging power, and the conditions behind quoted charge times. GAC Global cites 30–80% in 24 minutes for its Europe launch version. GAC Greece separately says 30–80% can take about 18 minutes at 25°C on a 180 kW DC charger under specified conditions; that is not a universal time for every UT or charger. GAC Global GAC Greece
- Warranty and support: Read the local warranty terms and check service locations and parts availability. GAC Global announced an eight-year manufacturer warranty for its European-market launch, while AION Auto UK promoted its AION Great 8 Promise; confirm the terms that apply to the car you are buying. Is the AION UT cheap enough?
The UT may be an appealing compact EV, but its China launch price is not enough to show that it is a bargain in another country. Judge it against the locally available version’s current, all-in price, comparable range figures, charging capability, equipment, and dependable warranty and service support. Until those details are set beside similarly priced local alternatives, “cheap enough” is a market-specific question rather than a conclusion supported by the China price.
