The roughly $20 offer in this headline was a historical promotion, not a confirmed current price. A New Atlas sponsored deal report published November 24, 2025, advertised Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 for Windows at $19.97 through December 7, 2025. Microsoft ended Office 2019 support on October 14, 2025, so that promotion’s “lifetime” wording did not mean ongoing Microsoft support.
What the $20 offer actually was
New Atlas reported a $19.97 promotional price for Office Professional Plus 2019 for Windows, compared with a stated $229 MSRP. The report said the offer ran through December 7, 2025. Those are details of a promotion reported on November 24, 2025—not evidence of a price or offer available today. New Atlas’s deal report described it as a sponsored promotion.
The report listed seven included applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Access. It described an installation on a Windows PC. It did not establish that Microsoft offered or endorsed this specific promotion.

The cited deal report gives a past deadline, but does not establish whether the seller still has the product, whether the same offer has been extended, or what it costs now. It also does not verify the seller’s authorization, the license’s transfer rights, or the full terms attached to an individual key. Treat any claim that the same $19.97 offer remains available as unverified unless the seller provides current, clear terms.
Is Office 2019 still supported?
No. Microsoft Support says, “Support for Office 2016 and Office 2019 ended on October 14, 2025.” Microsoft’s Office end-of-support guidance explains that after support ends, Microsoft may no longer provide support, bug fixes, or security fixes for vulnerabilities reported or discovered afterward. Microsoft’s Office 2019 lifecycle information also covers Professional Plus.
This support status matters even if an installation continues to open and run. A promotion’s use of “lifetime” should not be read as a promise of continuing security updates or Microsoft support. The cited information does not determine the legal duration of any particular license.

What the end of support means for online services
Microsoft says Office 2019 connections to services such as Exchange Online and SharePoint Online have not been supported since October 2023. Microsoft’s service-connection guidance distinguishes that earlier change from the October 2025 end of product support. If your work depends on those services, do not assume Office 2019 is a supported client for them.
What to check before buying an Office 2019 key
- Current availability and price: Confirm the offer directly with the seller; the 2025 report does not verify a live listing.
- License provenance and terms: Ask who is authorized to sell the license and whether it can be transferred or reinstalled. The cited promotion report does not answer those questions.
- Support needs: Office 2019 has passed its support end date, so weigh that status against your need for security fixes and supported connections to Microsoft services.
- Platform and apps: The promotion was described as a Windows installation with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Access. Do not assume it includes a Mac version or different applications.
If continued security support is essential, compare currently offered products using their official support dates, platform requirements, included applications, and license terms. The cited sources do not establish current prices or a like-for-like alternative.
