The funding was intended to advance its agentic-AI penetration-testing platform, expand its agents and grow its customer base. The announcement is now part of a larger funding story: Terra said a $30 million Series A in September 2025 brought its reported total funding to $38 million.
What Terra announced in its seed round
Terra’s April 22, 2025 announcement named SYN Ventures and FXP Ventures as the seed-round leads, with Underscore VC and angel investors participating. The named angels included former Google CISO Gerhard Eschelbeck, Talon Security founders Ofer Ben-Noon and Ohad Bobrov, Travis McPeak, and Itamar Friedman. Terra said it would use the capital to advance its platform, expand agent capabilities and grow its customer base. Terra’s announcement [c001]
There is a discrepancy in the announced amount: a company-distributed GlobeNewswire release dated April 21, 2025, reported $7.5 million, while Terra’s April 22 announcement said $8 million. The headline figure here follows the April 22 announcement; the available company-originated reports do not resolve the difference. GlobeNewswire release [c002]
What the seed-era platform was designed to do
At the time of the seed announcement, Terra described its service as continuous penetration testing for web applications. The company said it used dozens of fine-tuned AI agents adapted to each customer’s environment and business context, with experts guiding tests through a human-in-the-loop process. Terra also said it planned to add agentic red teaming and broaden its work into network security. These are descriptions and plans from the company, not independently verified product results. How the product description has changed
Terra’s current website presents Terra Platform as continuous agentic pentesting across web applications, AI systems and network infrastructure, with human oversight at critical decision points. It also promotes audit-ready reports and faster testing cycles. These statements describe Terra’s current positioning; the available sources do not establish independent performance or efficacy results. Terra Platform [c005]
One part of the expanded scope has a specific availability qualification: in July 2026, Terra said continuous internal network pentesting was in preview with select design partners. That announcement does not establish general availability. Terra’s July 2026 announcement [c006]

Terra’s later funding and performance claims
On September 15, 2025, Terra announced a $30 million Series A led by Felicis, with Dell Technologies Capital, SVCI, SYN Ventures, LAMA Partners (formerly FXP) and Underscore VC participating. Terra said the round brought its total funding to $38 million. These are company-reported financing figures. Terra’s Series A announcement [c003]
Terra’s current website compares traditional pentesting timelines of 4–6 weeks with 2–4 hours for its platform. Those figures are the company’s comparison, accessed October 4, 2026; the available material gives no independent methodology or validation for the comparison. Terra Platform [c008]

The seed round financed Terra’s stated plans for its platform and business; it does not, by itself, demonstrate that AI agents find vulnerabilities as accurately or comprehensively as other testing approaches. Terra CEO and co-founder Shahar Peled said the company believed its platform could bring accuracy, efficiency, business context and continuous testing to penetration testing and ethical hacking. That is Peled’s view of the product’s potential, not an independently established outcome. [c009]

For a security team assessing agentic pentesting, useful questions include the assets covered, how often tests run, where human review or approval occurs, how findings are validated, what evidence appears in reports, and what deployment or operational requirements apply. The available Terra announcements describe its approach and evolving scope, but do not provide independent, like-for-like results that would justify ranking it against alternatives.
