Tencent EdgeOne Makers is a web and Agent deployment platform built on Tencent’s EdgeOne infrastructure. For a first project, its simplest documented path is to connect a Git repository, choose a template or existing project, and deploy. Tencent renamed EdgeOne Pages to EdgeOne Makers on June 9, 2026, adding native Agent support while saying existing product behavior remained unchanged.
What EdgeOne Makers does
Makers covers more than static hosting. Tencent lists static websites, single-page applications (SPAs), full-stack applications, dynamic APIs and functions, and Agent applications. Its framework examples include Astro, React, Vue, and Next.js. The platform’s documentation also describes Git, CLI, MCP, IDE plugins, and CI/CD deployment options.

Tencent’s resource center announced expanded full-stack capabilities and Next.js support on August 27, 2026; check the current documentation for the modes and runtimes available to your project.
Which project path fits a beginner?

How to deploy a first website
Tencent’s onboarding FAQ describes deployment through a connected Git repository and a template or project. Its June 17, 2026 guide covers the website deployment flow. The steps below reflect that documented starting route; exact screen labels may change.
- Prepare a project. Use a template or an existing website project, and make sure its code is available in a Git repository.
- Connect the repository in EdgeOne Makers. Follow the platform’s project-creation flow to authorize and select the repository.
- Choose the project or template. Select the website you want to deploy and configure the build settings requested for that project.
- Deploy and check the result. Review the generated deployment address and confirm that the built site loads as expected.
- Choose a domain approach. Keep the generated project or deployment domain for initial access, or configure a custom domain if you need a branded address.
For repeat deployments, Git integration can suit a repository-based workflow. Tencent also lists CLI, MCP, IDE plugins, and CI/CD for other development and automation needs; beginners do not need to start with those options.

Functions, frameworks, and Agent features
Server-side functions
Edge and cloud functions add server-side behavior to a project. Tencent’s resource center reported Python and Go Cloud Function runtimes on March 30, 2026. Runtime availability and framework compatibility can change, so verify the current documentation before choosing a language or planning a deployment.

Tencent documents full-stack projects and framework support, including Next.js. Its August 27, 2026 announcement described broader Next.js modes. That announcement establishes a vendor-reported product update, not independent verification that a particular app or framework configuration will deploy without changes.

Agent runtime
Tencent describes an Agent runtime and sandbox, session or conversation memory, a model gateway, observability, and support for Agent frameworks. These capabilities may make Makers relevant if you want to deploy web projects and Agents in the same platform. Check the current product documentation for supported frameworks and the setup required by your model and tools.
Project domains, deployment domains, and custom domains
Makers provides generated project and deployment domains and supports custom-domain configuration. Tencent’s domain documentation distinguishes their behavior: a deployment domain keeps pointing to that deployment’s content, while a project domain points to the project’s current deployment. This distinction matters when a new deployment replaces the current version.

Access in mainland China has additional regional conditions. Tencent says project and deployment domains use system-generated preview URLs there, valid for three hours, and recommends a custom domain for stable access. Filing requirements depend on the selected acceleration region. Check the live domain documentation for the region you intend to use rather than assuming one rule applies everywhere.
Is EdgeOne Makers free?
Tencent’s product material promotes free deployment, but the sources reviewed do not establish a stable, universal quota or guarantee that production use will remain free. Check the live pricing and limits before deploying a production project, especially if it will use functions, storage, or Agent services. Treat the advertised offer as time-sensitive rather than assuming a particular allowance.

What the performance claims do—and do not—show
Tencent’s product page advertises “3200+ nodes,” “400 Tbps,” and “latency <50 ms.” These are vendor-published promotional figures; the page does not provide a methodology or measurement period, and they are not independently verified performance comparisons. They should not be read as a guarantee of the latency a specific user or project will experience.
What to check before choosing Makers
- Identify whether your project is static, a SPA, full-stack, or an Agent application.
- Confirm the current framework, function runtime, and integration support your project needs.
- Choose a deployment workflow that matches your experience: repository and template first, then CLI, IDE, MCP, or CI/CD if useful.
- Check domain behavior and any region-specific requirements for your intended audience.
- Review current pricing and limits for the services you plan to use.
Makers is a candidate to investigate when you want web and Agent deployment within Tencent’s platform. The available evidence does not establish that it is faster, cheaper, or categorically better than other deployment platforms.
