TELUS’s post-Black Friday wireless offers reported on December 5, 2024, cost $65 to $105 per month, with the listed prices already including a $5 monthly autopay discount. Several were more expensive than the sale or earlier offers, but the increases were not uniform: some comparisons also involved different data allowances or BYOP-only eligibility. These are historical prices, not a current TELUS rate card.
What were the post-Black Friday TELUS plan prices?
MobileSyrup reported the following offers on December 5, 2024. Its prices included a $5 monthly autopay discount. “BYOP” means bring your own phone; the report identified those offers as BYOP-only.
| Reported monthly price | Plan details | Comparison in the report |
|---|---|---|
| $105 | 200GB 5G+; Canada, U.S. and Mexico | Previously $90 |
| $95 | 200GB 5G+; Canada, U.S. and Mexico; BYOP only | Previously $60 |
| $85 | 175GB 5G+ | New tier; $15 above the $70 plan for 175GB offered November 18 |
| $75 | 175GB 5G+; BYOP only | Previously $55 for 200GB |
| $75 | 100GB 5G+ | New tier; no former price stated |
| $65 | 100GB 5G+; BYOP only | No former price stated |
| $30 | Talk and text | Unchanged |
These figures and comparisons were reported by MobileSyrup on December 5, 2024. A contemporaneous Tech Talk summary described the new range as about $15 above pre-sale rates, but the plan-by-plan details show why that shorthand needs qualification.
How much more expensive were the plans?
Two direct comparisons show a $15 increase
The clearest like-for-like changes in MobileSyrup’s report were the 200GB Canada/U.S./Mexico plan, which went from $90 to $105 per month, and a 175GB plan, which was offered for $70 on November 18 and then listed at $85. Both comparisons amount to $15 more per month.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Other comparisons changed the terms
The $95 200GB BYOP plan was reported as previously $60, a $35 difference. The $75 BYOP offer went from $55 for 200GB to $75 for 175GB: that is $20 more while providing 25GB less data. These are not equivalent comparisons to a simple price rise on an unchanged plan. MobileSyrup did not give a former price for the new $75 100GB tier or the $65 BYOP 100GB offer.
Why did TELUS plans get more expensive after Black Friday?
The December 2024 report establishes that TELUS’s listed offers after Black Friday were higher than several sale or earlier prices. It does not establish a specific reason for the changes, and it does not attribute an explanation to TELUS. It is therefore more accurate to describe the offers as post-sale price changes than to claim a particular cause.

Are those TELUS prices current?
No. The $65–$105 range is a snapshot reported in December 2024, not a current price list. TELUS’s current plans page describes 5G Standard and 5G+ Complete plan families and separates device costs from service-plan pricing, but the page content reviewed for this article did not expose a usable current rate table. Check TELUS directly for the offer available to your province and account type before making a decision.
What to compare on TELUS’s current page
- Total monthly cost: Confirm the price after any autopay discount and check whether that discount has conditions.
- Full-speed data: TELUS says its plans are unlimited, with speeds reduced to a maximum of 512 Kbps after the plan’s high-speed threshold for the rest of the billing cycle.
- Network access and speed: TELUS advertises maximum download speeds of up to 250 Mbps on 5G Standard and up to 2 Gbps on 5G+ Complete. These are maximums, not guaranteed speeds; actual performance depends on factors including device, coverage and network conditions. A compatible device and coverage are also required for 5G access.
- Geography: Check where calling, texting and roaming are included. TELUS describes Easy Roam from $5 per day, and says its 5G+ Complete Explore plan includes roaming in 68 destinations; destination lists and terms can change.
- Phone eligibility and balance: Compare BYOD and device-financing offers. TELUS says an existing device balance cannot be combined with a new 5G+ Complete plan, so that balance must be paid off first.
TELUS describes its current plan pricing structure this way: “With all of our new plans, device costs are now clearly separated from the service plan with TELUS Easy Payment.” That description concerns its current device and service pricing structure; it is not an explanation of the 2024 price changes.
