The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G and Motorola edge 70 pro both list 144Hz AMOLED displays and 6500mAh batteries, but they emphasize different features. Motorola specifies a higher-tier-named processor, 90W wired charging, wireless charging, and a periscope telephoto camera; TECNO lists 45W charging and an Alive Matrix rear display. A verified price difference is not available because the sources do not establish a matching TECNO price for the same market and storage tier.

There is no single winner across every specification. Motorola lists the Dimensity 8500 Extreme, while TECNO lists the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G. Those names indicate different listed chipset tiers, but the manufacturer pages do not provide a matched independent benchmark for these two phones. TECNO reports an AnTuTu score of 1,010,744 on its product page; that is TECNO’s own claim, not a head-to-head result, so it cannot establish which device is faster.

Both screens have a 144Hz refresh rate and are close in size. Motorola lists the higher resolution and peak-brightness figure. Peak brightness is a manufacturer specification, not a measurement of typical outdoor viewing, and the figures should not be treated as a controlled comparison.
TECNO also advertises PUBG MOBILE at 144FPS, but its page says the option is expected through a future major game update by October 2026 and depends on the game’s update timing. That is a conditional advertised capability, not a guarantee that it is currently available on every device or game version.

Which phone has the better camera?
Motorola’s announced system is more versatile on paper because it includes a periscope telephoto camera, with 3.5× optical zoom and up to 50× Super Zoom Pro stated in the announcement. The same announcement describes four 50MP cameras. TECNO lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera.

Which phone charges faster, and what do the battery figures mean?
Motorola lists 90W wired charging, compared with TECNO’s 45W. Motorola’s announcement also lists 15W wireless charging; the cited TECNO specifications do not list wireless charging. Charging wattage describes the stated charging capability, not a guaranteed charge time, which can vary with conditions and accessories.
Both makers specify a 6500mAh battery. Motorola’s Brazil announcement identifies that as typical capacity and gives 6300mAh as the certified minimum under controlled conditions. Its Brazil note says a Motorola TurboPower 90 or higher charger is sold separately, so do not assume that charger is included with every regional package. Check the local box contents.

What is the price difference?
A defensible numerical price gap cannot be calculated from the available official figures. Motorola’s Brazil announcement gives suggested prices of R$4,499 for 256GB and R$5,999 for 512GB, but a matching TECNO price for Brazil, the same storage tier, and the same date was not established. These Motorola prices apply to Brazil and should not be read as global pricing.

Which storage and software details should buyers check?
RAM and storage options differ by market. Motorola’s UK support page lists 256GB storage with either 8GB or 12GB RAM; its Brazil announcement lists 256GB and 512GB versions. TECNO lists 256GB with 8GB or 12GB physical RAM and a 512GB version with 12GB physical RAM. TECNO also counts extended RAM in its product material; virtual or extended RAM is not equivalent to physical memory.
Software support statements are also regional. Motorola UK says “Up to 3 years” for OS upgrades and security patches. Motorola Brazil instead states up to three software updates and four security updates. Those statements use different wording and should not be combined into a universal support promise; confirm the commitment for the country and SKU you intend to buy.
Does the Motorola edge 70 pro support a stylus?
Motorola’s Brazil announcement says the edge 70 pro is compatible with the new moto pen. This makes it relevant if stylus input matters, but check local accessory availability and exact compatibility before buying; the cited announcement does not establish availability in every market.
