The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the higher listed refresh rate, a larger battery and an explicitly specified ultrawide rear camera. The Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G offers a Super AMOLED display and a stated six-generation OS-upgrade and six-year security-update policy. Neither specification sheet proves which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use. In India, third-party price listings show a sizable gap but disagree, and Samsung’s official page currently labels its 8GB/256GB listing “Not for sale.”
At a glance: which phone suits which buyer?
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if its listed 144Hz display, 6500mAh battery, or 8MP ultrawide camera best matches your priorities.
- Consider the Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G if its Super AMOLED panel or Samsung’s stated long-term software-support commitment matters more to you.
- Do not choose on camera quality, battery life, or speed from the specifications alone. The available sources do not provide a comparable independent camera, runtime or performance test.
These are manufacturer specifications, not head-to-head test results. The official names are TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G and Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G. The Samsung specifications cited here are for its 8GB/256GB variant.

Specifications are from the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G specifications and Samsung India Galaxy F70 Pro 5G product page. Samsung describes its 6000mAh figure as typical and 5830mAh as rated minimum; these are not directly interchangeable figures.
Display: higher refresh rate or Super AMOLED?
TECNO lists a 144Hz refresh rate, compared with Samsung’s maximum 120Hz. A higher refresh-rate specification can matter to people who prefer smoother scrolling or supported games, but it does not by itself establish brightness, color accuracy or overall display quality. Samsung specifically identifies its screen as Super AMOLED, while TECNO specifies AMOLED; panel labels and refresh rates alone do not settle which looks better.

TECNO also lists a higher pixel resolution, 2644 × 1208 versus Samsung’s 1080 × 2340. The phones differ in screen dimensions and aspect ratios, so the figures should be read as listed specifications rather than a complete measure of perceived sharpness.
Battery and charging: capacity is not runtime
TECNO lists a 6500mAh battery and Samsung lists 6000mAh typical capacity, with 5830mAh rated minimum. Both list 45W charging. The larger TECNO capacity is a specification advantage, but it does not prove longer battery life: screen use, signal conditions, software, and other factors affect runtime, and the cited sources do not provide comparable battery tests.

Check the box contents for the exact regional model before buying a charger.

Cameras: compare the lenses, not just megapixels
TECNO specifies a 50MP main rear camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Samsung lists three rear cameras—50MP, 5MP and 2MP—and OIS. The TECNO sheet explicitly identifies an ultrawide lens; the cited Samsung page identifies a triple-camera setup but does not establish a like-for-like ultrawide comparison.

For selfies, TECNO lists 13MP and Samsung lists 12MP with fixed focus. These resolutions do not determine image quality. The cited sources contain no comparable independent photo samples or camera testing, so they cannot establish a camera winner.
Performance, memory and storage
TECNO names the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset and lists its process, peak clock and graphics processor. Samsung’s page identifies Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in a footnote and lists CPU speeds of 2.4GHz/1.8GHz. Clock frequency alone is not a fair performance comparison; no comparable independent benchmark result is established by the cited material.

Check the precise RAM and storage configuration on the listing. TECNO offers several listed configurations, and its “extended RAM” is virtual rather than additional physical memory. The cited Samsung page covers 8GB/256GB and lists microSD support up to 2TB, which may matter if removable storage is useful to you.
Software support: Samsung states a specific duration
TECNO’s specifications identify HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Samsung says the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date, while noting that the policy is subject to change. TECNO’s cited specification page does not state a comparable update duration, so the available information supports a clearer duration commitment from Samsung, not a claim that TECNO will receive no updates.

India prices and availability: verify before comparing
Third-party India comparison listings observed in 2026 showed different Samsung prices. The arithmetic gaps below are between the figures displayed by each source; they are not verified official launch-price differences or guaranteed checkout prices.
| Listing source | TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G shown | Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G shown | Difference between displayed figures |

Samsung’s official India page for the SM-E476BZGGINS 8GB/256GB green listing showed “Not for sale” when checked in 2026, despite the third-party Amazon price listing. Its page gives an August 3, 2026 launch date and warns that price, specifications and availability may vary by location. Treat the comparison-site figures as time-sensitive snapshots, not proof that either phone is in stock.
Before paying, confirm the country, exact storage/RAM variant, seller identity, return terms, warranty coverage, current checkout total and network-band compatibility. Compare the same configuration where possible; the available cited sources do not establish a current TECNO India checkout price.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDurability and physical fit
TECNO advertises IP69K/69/68/66 resistance, while Samsung lists Gorilla Glass Victus on the cited product page. These are manufacturer-listed claims, not a guarantee against all water damage or breakage. The phones have different dimensions, so do not assume a case or screen protector for one fits the other; use accessories explicitly marked for the exact model.
