Use Go’s chromedp package to drive Chrome or Chromium, process a fixed list of listing URLs, wait for each page to become meaningfully ready, and save a screenshot per URL. chromedp is not a browser: your runtime needs a compatible Chrome/Chromium binary or a reachable Chrome DevTools endpoint. The example below captures full pages sequentially and continues after an individual page fails, while recording the error.
What you need to decide before capturing
This workflow accepts URLs you provide; it does not discover more listings or crawl job portals. Identify the exact pages, whether they require a signed-in session or other user-driven state, and what screenshot scope you need. Check the current access rules for each target portal before automating it. No particular Indian job portal, login behavior, or permission to automate it is established here.
- Viewport: the visible browser area, suitable when the screenshot should reflect a particular screen size.
- Element: a chosen DOM node, such as a listing container. The selector must exist on the target page.
- Full page: the document beyond the visible viewport, useful for a complete listing page but potentially much taller and larger than a viewport capture.
Page readiness varies by site. Prefer a visible heading or listing container over a fixed sleep, and verify each selector against the actual portal markup. If a page renders content dynamically, navigation finishing does not necessarily mean the listings are ready.

Install Chrome or Chromium in the execution environment, or configure access to an existing remote DevTools endpoint. chromedp communicates with the browser through the Chrome DevTools Protocol and does not bundle Chrome. Consult the chromedp project documentation for context lifecycle, browser setup, waits, and remote connections.
Bulk full-page capture in Go
Save this as main.go. It visits an explicit URL slice sequentially, applies a per-page timeout, waits for a selector that you configure for your targets, captures the full page, and writes each successful image as PNG. It reports failures to standard error and proceeds to later URLs; it exits with a nonzero status after the batch if any page failed.

Replace the example URLs with the listing pages you intend to capture. Use filenames that are unique and safe for your environment; for larger batches, keep a manifest mapping each output filename to its source URL and capture time. The example uses h1 only as a starting selector, not as a guarantee that a page’s listings have loaded. If a portal exposes a more meaningful listing container, wait for that element instead.

| Need | chromedp operation | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Visible browser viewport | chromedp.CaptureScreenshot(&image) |
Captures the current viewport. |
| Specific DOM element | chromedp.Screenshot(selector, &image, chromedp.ByQuery) |
Captures the selected element; ensure the selector is correct and the element is present. |
| Scaled element capture | chromedp.ScreenshotScale(selector, scale, &image, chromedp.ByQuery) |
Use when you need a scaled element image; confirm exact API behavior in the package version in use. |
| Entire document | chromedp.FullScreenshot(&image, quality) |
Captures beyond the viewport. The documented example notes that this overrides device emulation settings. |
The screenshot API describes a quality value below 100 as JPEG output, while quality 100 produces PNG. The example uses quality 90 but writes a .png filename, so change it to .jpg to match that documented JPEG behavior, or use quality 100 to produce PNG. Confirm output behavior against your pinned package version. The official chromedp screenshot example shows navigation, capture, and writing returned image bytes.
Control failures, timing, and batch size
Use explicit per-page readiness
A fixed delay is easy to write but does not establish that a listing has loaded. A selector wait expresses the condition you actually need; configure it per portal if different sites use different markup. Pages that require interaction, authentication, or additional state need a workflow specific to that site, which this generic URL-list example does not provide.

- INCREASED VERSATILITY: Connect to more; Plug devices straight into your monitor for increased flexibility, making your computing environment even more convenient
Make timeouts and failure policy deliberate
The sample sets a 45-second context deadline for each URL. Adjust it to suit the pages and runtime you operate, rather than treating that value as a universal requirement. Each timeout, navigation failure, missing selector, screenshot error, or write error is logged with the URL and a useful label. The sample continues to later pages, then returns failure status if any page did not complete.
Begin sequentially; add concurrency only for a measured need
Sequential processing is easier to diagnose and avoids launching a burst of work at third-party sites. If you later use a worker pool, bound it, monitor browser resource use, and consider the load on each target portal. No performance benchmark or safe concurrency limit has been established for this use case.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome fails to start or connect | No compatible browser is installed, or a configured DevTools endpoint is unavailable. | Confirm the Chrome/Chromium binary and runtime environment, or verify the remote endpoint is reachable. chromedp itself does not include a browser. |
| Navigation times out | The page did not finish navigating within the per-page deadline, or the site is slow or unreachable. | Check the URL and network access; set a suitable deadline and log the failing URL. Do not assume a longer timeout resolves an access restriction. |
| Wait for selector times out | The selector is wrong for that portal, the element is not visible, or listings have not rendered in the expected state. | Inspect the page’s current markup and choose a visible, meaningful readiness element. Use a per-portal selector when necessary. |
| Image is empty, incomplete, or unexpected | The capture ran before relevant content appeared, the selected scope was not intended, or dynamic content was not ready. | Wait for the actual listing container and verify whether you need viewport, element, or full-page capture. Validate representative pages and browser versions. |
| Image extension does not match its format | The quality setting selects JPEG while the filename ends in .png. |
Use a matching .jpg extension for quality below 100, or set quality to 100 for PNG, subject to the pinned version’s behavior. |
| One failed URL prevents useful batch results | The loop stops on the first error or the failure policy is unclear. | Keep per-page errors isolated, as in the example, and decide whether the batch should continue, retry, or stop. Avoid automatic retries until you understand the cause and the target site’s rules. |
Performance, reliability, and cost considerations
The sequential example favors predictable behavior over throughput. A full-page image can be larger than a viewport image, and reusing one browser context avoids setting up a separate browser for every URL in this small workflow. For larger runs, measure your own workload before adding concurrency or changing context strategy; the documented APIs do not establish a benchmark for Indian job pages.
Keep the input list explicit, preserve source URLs in a manifest, and retain logs that identify pages that failed. Validate a representative sample from each portal after changing selectors, browser versions, or capture scope. Treat screenshots of signed-in or personal pages carefully and limit access to the resulting files.
Or skip the browser setup
Instead of maintaining Chrome and capture code, use ScreenshotNeo, a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request returns a screenshot or PDF; the example saves a WebP response for one URL, so loop over your own explicit URL list to process a batch. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this workflow for every Indian job portal?
No portal-specific behavior is established here. Check the rules and requirements of each target site and validate its selectors and access needs before running captures.
Does chromedp include Chrome or Chromium?
No. It controls a compatible browser through the Chrome DevTools Protocol; the runtime must provide that browser or a remote DevTools endpoint.
