T1 Esports Academy won the inaugural 2026 World Star Challengers Invitational (WSCI), defeating Solary 3–2 in the final. It is a major international Tier 2 title—not a win in League of Legends’ main World Championship.
What is the World Star Challengers Invitational?
The World Star Challengers Invitational is an international Tier 2 League of Legends competition. Insider Gaming described the inaugural event as bringing together academy and Tier 2 teams from Korea, China, EMEA, North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Brazil. That description comes from the outlet’s event coverage, rather than an official tournament format statement. Insider Gaming and Sheep Esports both framed T1’s result as a win at the inaugural WSCI.
How did T1 Academy win the title?
T1 Esports Academy advanced through three best-of-five playoff rounds, winning each series before taking the final by one game. Riot’s official playoff results list the bracket scores:

#1 Best Overall
- Comfort is King: Comfort’s in the Cloud III’s DNA. Built for gamers who can’t have an uncomfortable headset ruin the flow of their full-combo, disrupt their speedrun, or knocking them out of the zone.
- Audio Tuned for Your Entertainment: Angled 53mm drivers have been tuned by HyperX audio engineers to provide the optimal listening experience that accents the dynamic sounds of gaming.
- Upgraded Microphone for Clarity and Accuracy: Captures high-quality audio for clear voice chat and calls. The mic is noise-cancelling and features a built-in mesh filter to omit disruptive sounds and LED mic mute indicator lets you know when you’re muted.
- Durability, for the Toughest of Battles: The headset is flexible and features an aluminum frame so it’s resilient against travel, accidents, mishaps, and your ‘level-headed’ reactions to losses and defeat screens.
Who was named Finals MVP?
Sheep Esports reported that T1’s Kim “Eclipse” Min-jun received Finals MVP. Insider Gaming also embedded a post identifying Eclipse as the award winner; the sources cited here do not establish an official award record.
Does this make T1 Academy League of Legends world champions?
It makes T1 Esports Academy the first champion of the WSCI. The phrase “world champions” in coverage refers to winning this international Tier 2 event; it does not mean the academy team won League of Legends’ main World Championship. The distinction matters because the WSCI and Worlds are separate competitions.
