How 13.00 fits into the release timeline
13.00 is one release in a continuing series, not the latest image identified by the project. The changelog lists 13.01, dated June 6, 2026, and 13.02, dated August 1, 2026; both later releases include further kernel and bcachefs updates. As of September 30, 2026, the official download page listed 13.02 as the current download. Release status can change, so verify the version on that page when you are ready to use an image.
How to prepare SystemRescue boot media
The project’s Quick Start Guide describes downloading the ISO, checking its checksum, and then writing it to a DVD or installing it from the ISO image to a USB stick. A writable USB flash drive is one practical option; the project’s instructions do not specify a required capacity, speed class, or brand.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Open the official download page and confirm which version is current.
- Download the ISO and the available checksum file. The download page also provides a GnuPG signature and verification commands; follow the project’s instructions to verify the image before using it.
- Use the Quick Start Guide’s instructions to write the ISO to a DVD or install it to a USB stick.
- Boot from the media and choose the boot option appropriate to the task. The official download page advises at least 2 GB of memory for default boot options, or 4 GB when using
copytoram. These are the project’s stated recommendations, not guarantees for every machine or workload.
If the system will not boot from the image, the project identifies unreliable or damaged media, bad RAM, and insufficient memory as possible causes. Check the recording and the machine against the project’s guidance rather than assuming the ISO itself is the only possible cause.

SystemRescue does not automatically mount filesystems in the way many desktop Linux distributions do. The project’s FAQ explains that unintended filesystem access could conflict with tools operating directly on devices and potentially cause corruption. Before running a disk-level operation, check which filesystems are mounted and what devices the command will affect. The lack of automatic mounting is not a complete safety guarantee: you still need to verify the target device and operation.
