The right square camera filter bag is the one that fits your filters’ actual dimensions and your carrying setup—not simply the one labeled “100mm.” Compare internal fit, capacity, holder storage, construction, and attachment options before buying. Manufacturer listings offer useful examples, but they do not establish a universally best case or comparable impact, weather, or scratch protection.
Start with filter dimensions and system size
A “100mm system” does not mean every filter is 100 × 100mm. Square filters may be 100 × 100mm, while graduated filters are often 100 × 150mm; both formats appear in case specifications. Larger 150mm and 180mm systems need a case sized for those filters. Check the dimensions of your largest filter and the case’s stated fit before relying on a system name.
Also check what you plan to carry. A filter-only case may not have room for a holder or adapter rings, and a holder stored alongside filters can reduce the available capacity. Make a list of the filters and accessories you intend to bring, then compare that list with the manufacturer’s stated configuration.

Compare cases by fit, capacity, and carry style

Choose the layout that matches your kit
For filters and holder together
If you want to avoid carrying a separate holder pouch, look for a case that explicitly includes holder storage in its capacity description. NiSi’s 100mm All in One Case is listed for a holder plus eight filters. Marumi’s M100 pouch describes separate spaces for the holder and rings, while its stated filter capacity is per pocket. These are different layouts, so compare the configuration rather than treating the capacity numbers as interchangeable.

For filters only
A filter-only case can suit a kit where the holder and rings already have a dedicated place. NiSi lists its 100mm hard case for up to eight filters and its 150mm/180mm case for six. Check the larger filter dimensions against the case before assuming that a model for a larger system will fit every filter in that family.
For access while working
Attachment points can matter when changing filters outdoors or on a tripod. The NiSi Australia Caddy listing specifies a cross-body sling strap and tripod mount; the NiSi USA hard-case listing specifies a tripod strap, while the All in One Case lists belt mounting and a shoulder strap. Confirm that the attachment method suits how you work and that the model is sold in your region.

Understand what protection claims do—and do not—tell you
A hard cover or padded pouch describes construction, not a measured level of protection. The cited manufacturer pages do not provide comparable independent impact, weatherproofing, scratch-protection, or longevity test results. Do not assume a case is waterproof or that its capacity specification guarantees filters cannot rub together. If protection is a priority, inspect the product’s stated construction and internal dividers, and verify any specific protection claim with the manufacturer.

Use this pre-purchase checklist
- Measure or confirm the dimensions of your largest square and rectangular filters.
- Check that the case names those dimensions or explicitly lists the filter format.
- Count how many filters you need to carry and whether the holder and adapter rings need to fit too.
- Compare the listed internal organization, cover or pouch construction, and documented dividers.
- Choose a carry method—handheld pouch, belt loop, shoulder strap, sling, or tripod attachment—that suits your field setup.
- Check the current product page for availability and confirm the regional model before ordering.
