The Sony INZONE Buds WF-G700N are best suited to players who want a dedicated 2.4 GHz gaming connection, active noise cancelling, and gaming-focused spatial audio. Their main drawback is an important compatibility limit: they do not support Bluetooth Classic. Before buying, check whether your phone or other device supports one of the connection paths Sony specifies.
What the Sony INZONE Buds offer
The WF-G700N package includes a USB transceiver for 2.4 GHz wireless use, alongside Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec. Sony specifies active noise cancelling (ANC), ambient sound, 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming, IPX4-equivalent water resistance, and quick charging. Those are listed features, not independent evidence of how well the earbuds sound, block noise, fit, or perform on calls.

Check compatibility before buying
There are two distinct ways to connect the buds to a phone, and neither should be treated as universal. Sony’s compatibility guidance describes both paths and warns that even supported connection types do not guarantee compatibility with every device.

Use the supplied USB transceiver
- The phone or console needs to support USB Type-C.
- Set the transceiver switch to PS5/MOBILE mode for this connection path.
- Sony states, “iPhone is not supported.”
- Sony does not guarantee compatibility with all USB-C devices.
Connect directly over Bluetooth
The buds use Bluetooth LE Audio and LC3, not Bluetooth Classic. A phone must support LC3 / LE Audio for direct Bluetooth use; having Bluetooth in general is not enough to establish compatibility.
What battery life to expect
Sony’s current specifications, accessed in 2026, give maximum playback estimates over the USB transceiver. They are manufacturer ratings, not guaranteed runtimes; Sony says results vary with use and conditions, and rechargeable battery capacity declines with age.

Sony also describes the battery life as the longest in the industry for the truly wireless headset market with a USB transceiver as of April 2026, with ANC off. That is Sony’s specifically qualified market claim, not an independent comparison.

Know the software and platform limitation
Sony says 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming must be enabled through INZONE Hub on Windows. The support page lists Windows 11 Home and Pro for the displayed Hub version; software listings can change, so check Sony’s WF-G700N support and downloads page for current requirements. The available documentation does not establish the same setup or feature configuration on a console or phone.

Who should consider them?
A good fit if
- You primarily play on a device supported by the included 2.4 GHz transceiver.
- You have verified that your phone supports LC3 / LE Audio if you want direct Bluetooth use.
- You value the combination of ANC, ambient sound, and a Windows-configured gaming spatial-audio feature.
Think twice if
- You expect conventional Bluetooth earbuds to pair with any Bluetooth phone.
- You want to use the supplied transceiver with an iPhone.
- Your purchase depends on a particular result for comfort, microphone clarity, ANC effectiveness, or sound quality. The cited manufacturer specifications do not establish comparative performance in those areas.
Verdict
The INZONE Buds make the most sense for a compatible gaming setup where the included 2.4 GHz transceiver is useful and the buyer accepts Windows software requirements for gaming spatial audio. They are a riskier choice as general-purpose phone earbuds: Bluetooth Classic is absent, direct Bluetooth requires LC3 / LE Audio, and Sony explicitly excludes iPhone from transceiver support.
