For the Galaxy S26 generation, neither Snapdragon nor Exynos wins every comparison. Tom’s Guide’s benchmark results vary between the S26 and S26+, and one published battery test favors Snapdragon but lacks enough detail to establish a general advantage. The processor also depends on the model and market, so check the exact phone configuration before comparing.
Which Galaxy S26 models use Snapdragon or Exynos?
The processor is not the same across every Galaxy S26 listing. Samsung’s global Galaxy S26 specifications list Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and Exynos 2600, and note that the application processor may vary by device and market. Samsung Singapore identifies the Galaxy S26 and S26+ sold there as Exynos 2600 models. Qualcomm says the Galaxy S26 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy globally.
Before choosing between variants, confirm the processor for the specific model number and market in the seller’s listing or the local Samsung specifications. Do not assume that a review of one region’s S26 applies to a phone sold elsewhere.

How do Snapdragon and Exynos compare in CPU speed?
Tom’s Guide’s March 22, 2026, comparison used Geekbench 6.6. Its results show Snapdragon ahead in single-core scores on both phones, but multi-core results were close and did not produce one consistent winner.

| Phone and processor | Geekbench 6.6 single-core | Geekbench 6.6 multi-core |

| Galaxy S26+, Snapdragon | 3,725 | 11,121 |
| Galaxy S26+, Exynos 2600 | 3,134 | 10,992 |
Tom’s Guide’s benchmark results are measurements of the particular reviewed devices, not guaranteed scores for every retail unit. A single-core score and a multi-core score describe different kinds of processor work; neither alone predicts how fast every app will feel.
Which chip is better for gaming?
Tom’s Guide’s 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Unlimited results also depend on the phone model. Exynos scored higher on the base S26, while Snapdragon scored higher on the S26+. The reported frame rates are outputs of that graphics benchmark, not guarantees for a particular game.

| Phone and processor | 3DMark score | Reported frame rate |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, Snapdragon | 7,059 | 42.27 fps |
| Galaxy S26, Exynos 2600 | 7,250 | 43.42 fps |
| Galaxy S26+, Snapdragon | 7,518 | 45.02 fps |
| Galaxy S26+, Exynos 2600 | 7,219 | 43.23 fps |
These figures come from the same Tom’s Guide comparison. A synthetic graphics test cannot establish performance in every game, or how smoothly a phone runs after a long session as heat builds. Samsung describes cooling and gaming features on its S26 and S26+ product page, but those manufacturer descriptions are not independent, matched tests of sustained gameplay.

One reported same-task test favored Snapdragon, but the available account is not detailed enough to treat its result as a typical difference. SamMobile reports that Android Addicts ran calls, video, social apps, 4K recording, navigation, and 3DMark gaming on two S26 variants. The reported runtime was 6 hours 48 minutes for Exynos and 9 hours 26 minutes for Snapdragon. The account does not provide sufficient protocol detail to assess settings, software, sample variation, or repeatability, so this is one published test result—not proof that Snapdragon generally lasts longer or by a predictable margin. See SamMobile’s account of the test.

Battery capacity and manufacturer playback estimates are separate from a direct chip comparison. Samsung Singapore lists typical capacities of 4,300 mAh for the S26 and 4,900 mAh for the S26+, and claims up to 30 and 31 hours of video playback, respectively. Samsung says actual battery life varies with network conditions and usage. Its global specifications list rated minimum capacities of 4,175 mAh for S26 and 4,755 mAh for S26+; typical capacity is a measured average. These phone-level specifications do not show whether Snapdragon or Exynos is more efficient under the same workload. See Samsung’s Singapore product information and global specifications.

- Check the exact configuration: establish the processor in the particular model and market you can buy.
- Match the evidence to your use: benchmark rankings do not guarantee a noticeable difference in your everyday apps or preferred games.
- For gaming, look beyond a short benchmark: the cited results do not settle frame rates or heat during prolonged play in individual games.
- For battery life, compare like with like: the reported run is suggestive, but does not provide enough information to predict endurance for your settings and routine.
Samsung’s earlier Galaxy S25 announcement said that series used Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and claimed generational gains of 37% in CPU, 30% in GPU, and 40% in NPU performance versus the prior generation. Those are Samsung’s claims about S25, not a direct S26 Snapdragon-versus-Exynos comparison, so they do not resolve the choice between S26 variants. See Samsung’s S25 announcement.
