The Snapdragon 778G and the Dimensity 6360 Max split the published results. In the 91mobiles comparison, the Dimensity 6360 Max has the higher AnTuTu total, while the Snapdragon 778G leads both Geekbench single-core and multi-core results. Those scores come from phones, not from a controlled test of the two chips, so they show what each platform reached in the devices tested rather than a settled ranking.

Which chip is which

The two names come from different companies, and the labels do not match exactly. Qualcomm sells the Snapdragon 778G as a 6 nm 5G platform. MediaTek’s own product page is titled “MediaTek Dimensity 6360,” and it does not describe a separate “Max” silicon variant. The “Dimensity 6360 Max” label appears in 91mobiles’ comparison, and that is where the Max-specific figures in this article come from.

The available evidence does not establish whether “6360 Max” is a distinct chip revision or a naming convention used by some handset makers or publishers. Treat the two MediaTek labels as referring to the same family until a manufacturer confirms otherwise. The MediaTek page describes the chip this way: “The MediaTek Dimensity 6360 is a highly energy-efficient 5G smartphone processor that supports up to 108MP cameras, vibrant displays, wireless coexistence technology, and gaming performance enhanced by MediaTek HyperEngine.” That is MediaTek’s product description, not an independent test.

Each figure above is a platform maximum. A handset can ship with less memory, a slower storage standard, a lower refresh rate, or a camera limit below the chip’s ceiling. The phone’s own spec sheet decides what you get.

Benchmark figures

The figures below are the values 91mobiles reported on its comparison page, checked on 7 October 2026. The page does not state when the underlying tests were run, so no test year is given here. The Dimensity 6360 Max product page on 91mobiles describes its AnTuTu total as the highest recorded by any device running that chip.

AnTuTu

AnTuTu measure Dimensity 6360 Max Snapdragon 778G Higher score
Total 651,333 587,520 Dimensity 6360 Max
CPU 233,318 204,740 Dimensity 6360 Max
GPU 47,794 138,179 Snapdragon 778G
Memory 179,323 129,747 Dimensity 6360 Max
UX 190,898 114,854 Dimensity 6360 Max

The four component scores add up to the totals shown, so the table is internally consistent. The total hides a split: the Dimensity 6360 Max leads on CPU, memory and UX, while the Snapdragon 778G leads on GPU by a wide margin.

Geekbench

Geekbench measure Dimensity 6360 Max Snapdragon 778G Higher score
Single-core 784 1,022 Snapdragon 778G
Multi-core 2,042 2,957 Snapdragon 778G

The Geekbench gap runs the other way from AnTuTu’s CPU and total results. That is a reason to avoid one headline number. Geekbench measures processor workloads, and AnTuTu adds GPU, memory and interface subtests, so the two tests weight the same silicon differently.

How far the numbers can be trusted

These results are device-based. Each score reflects one phone’s cooling, memory configuration, firmware, power settings, and the benchmark version installed at the time of testing. A different handset with the same chip can score differently, and the comparison does not show matched hardware running both chips under identical conditions. For that reason, the scores support a statement about the reported results only, not a claim that one chip is faster in general.

The Geekbench lead for the Snapdragon 778G should not be read as a gaming advantage. The AnTuTu GPU subscore is the only gaming-adjacent figure here, and it is also a synthetic test. Frame rates, sustained performance under heat, and game-specific optimisation need separate testing that these sources do not provide.

Checking the phone, not just the chip

Most buyers choose a phone, not a processor. The 91mobiles comparison names handsets that use each chip, but these are examples from the publisher’s list, not a full catalogue or a guarantee of current stock.

  • Snapdragon 778G phones named: vivo V29, OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and Samsung Galaxy M52 5G.
  • Dimensity 6360 Max phone named: OPPO F33 Pro 5G.

Before buying, check the full specification sheet for the exact model and region. Confirm the memory type and capacity, storage standard, Wi-Fi version, refresh rate, and whether the phone’s listed Bluetooth version matches the chip’s stated capability.

Which chip to weigh for which priority

  • Choose by AnTuTu total only if your main interest is the overall score across CPU, memory and UX, since that is where the Dimensity 6360 Max leads.
  • Look at the Snapdragon 778G if you care about the Geekbench results, the stronger AnTuTu GPU subscore, or the platform’s listed LPDDR5, UFS 3.1 and Wi-Fi 6E support.
  • Compare the actual phones on price, battery, thermal design, software support and availability in your market. The chipset alone does not settle that choice.

Because the two benchmark sources differ and the labels are not fully reconciled, the most defensible conclusion is that the two platforms are close in reported performance, with each leading on different measures.
