Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is the safer choice for graphics-heavy gaming and tends to lead in aggregate benchmark comparisons, while CPU results are closer and single-core rankings vary by test. Published scores conflict because they come from different phones, sample sizes, and test runs—not one controlled chip-versus-chip trial. If you are choosing a phone, treat these results as clues about the platform, not a promise of that handset’s performance.

Specifications: what differs between the two chips?

NanoReview lists both platforms as 4 nm, eight-core chips, but identifies different graphics processors and CPU configurations. These are third-party compiled specifications; Qualcomm’s pages describe platform capabilities but do not independently verify every detail in that comparison.

Specification Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Snapdragon 6 Gen 4
Process and CPU cores 4 nm; 8 cores, according to NanoReview 4 nm; 8 cores, according to NanoReview

Qualcomm-stated platform features Product brief highlights 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, up to 144 FPS gaming support, and 200 MP capture Product page describes a 2.3 GHz CPU, Adreno graphics, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E-related capabilities, gaming features, AI functions, and imaging features

Those feature lists describe platform capabilities, not a guarantee that a particular phone includes every feature or supports every combination. Display refresh rate, camera hardware, regional connectivity, and other implementation choices depend on the phone maker. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 announcement and its Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 product page outline that platform; the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 product brief gives the corresponding 6s platform claims.

Which chip performs better in benchmarks?

Several comparisons favor the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 overall, especially in graphics, but the figures should be read with their test context. The sources do not establish one definitive ranking that applies to every phone.

Aggregate results and CPU scores

NanoReview’s aggregate results list AnTuTu 11 scores of 829,894 for the 6s Gen 4 and 975,254 for the 6 Gen 4. The respective sample counts are 10 and 97. For Geekbench 6, it lists single-core scores of 1,009 and 1,087, and multi-core scores of 2,892 and 3,148; the sample counts are 7 and 17. These are aggregate submissions, not results from matching phones tested under identical conditions. See NanoReview’s comparison.

Beebom’s device-based results show a different CPU pattern. On its Moto G57 and OPPO K13 5G test phones, the 6s Gen 4 scored 1,013 in Geekbench 6 single-core, ahead of the 6 Gen 4’s 994; the 6 Gen 4 led in multi-core, with 3,082 versus 2,876. The difference in single-core ordering is a good reason not to treat small score gaps as universal. Beebom’s comparison identifies the phones used.

Graphics and whole-test results

In Beebom’s tests, the OPPO K13 5G with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 scored 894,500 in AnTuTu versus 805,947 for the Moto G57 with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. In 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the reported best-loop scores were 968 and 781, respectively. That graphics result supports the 6 Gen 4 as the stronger reported option for graphics-heavy workloads, while remaining a comparison of complete handset setups.

Another published AnTuTu comparison points the other way: 91mobiles lists 889,090 for the 6s Gen 4 and 764,410 for the 6 Gen 4. The totals and component subscores differ from the other publishers’ results. Because the reported comparisons use different devices and test contexts, this figure should be treated as a separate publisher result, not as a definitive reversal. What do Qualcomm’s performance claims mean?

The two generations’ promotional claims use different baselines, so they cannot be used to compare the chips directly. Qualcomm’s February 12, 2025 announcement says Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 offers 11% improved CPU performance, up to 29% better GPU performance, and 12% power savings versus its previous generation. The 6s Gen 4 product brief claims 36% improved CPU performance and a 59% faster GPU versus its own previous generation. Neither set of figures is a 6s Gen 4-versus-6 Gen 4 test.

Those are vendor claims, not independent measurements of battery life or everyday experience. The available comparisons do not establish a real-world battery-life winner between these platforms.

Which one should you choose for a phone?

If two otherwise comparable phones are available, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has the more consistently favorable reported graphics profile and leads several aggregate comparisons. For CPU-heavy everyday tasks, the gap appears less clear, and single-core ordering varies by source. Your actual phone experience also depends on cooling, memory configuration, software, battery capacity, display, and camera implementation.

Beebom’s benchmark comparison names the Moto G57 with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and OPPO K13 5G with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 as its test devices. Those results belong to those handset configurations; they do not isolate the processors from the rest of each phone. Compare current reviews of the exact models and regional versions you are considering, especially if sustained gaming, battery endurance, or camera quality matters.
