The published specifications do not name a winner between Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and Dimensity 6360 Apex. Qualcomm and MediaTek describe different strengths, and the benchmark figures available for the Dimensity 6360 Apex cannot be matched against Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, because no test we could identify runs both chips in the same handset under the same conditions. Which chip is “better” depends on the actual phone that carries it: its memory, display, battery, cooling, software support, network bands and price.
Start with the phone, not the chip name
Both products are system-on-chip platforms for 5G smartphones. A chipset sets the ceiling for processing, graphics and modem performance, but the phone maker decides how much memory, storage, cooling and battery capacity surrounds it. Two phones with the same chip can feel very different in daily use.
The naming needs one clarification. MediaTek’s Open Resource Architecture page lists the Dimensity 6360 Apex as a variant in the Dimensity 6000 family. MediaTek’s main product specification page is titled Dimensity 6360, so the base specifications below come from that page. A handset maker may ship the chip with different memory, display or modem configurations, so always confirm the specifications for the exact phone you are considering.
Published specifications side by side
The table lists what each vendor publishes. “Not stated” means the value does not appear in the product-page text we reviewed, not that the chip lacks the feature.

What the specifications do and do not tell you
CPU layout versus the Kryo label
MediaTek publishes a full core breakdown: two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. Qualcomm’s product page describes a 64-bit Kryo CPU up to 2.4 GHz but does not disclose a comparable core layout in the text we reviewed. Do not assume the Kryo name reveals the core design. Peak clock speed also says little about sustained performance, which depends on how long the phone can hold high clocks before heat forces them down.
Process node is not a battery rating
Qualcomm lists 4 nm, and MediaTek describes the Dimensity 6360 as a 6 nm design. A smaller node can help efficiency in principle, but the finished phone’s battery life depends on the battery capacity, display, radio use, software and workload. A 4 nm figure on its own does not predict longer runtime.

Gaming percentages use different baselines
Qualcomm’s 77% graphics improvement compares Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 with its own previous generation. MediaTek’s gaming figures compare the Dimensity 6360 with direct alternative smartphone chipsets, not with Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. Neither set of percentages is a head-to-head result. Qualcomm’s 90 FPS support is also a platform capability: whether a specific game reaches that frame rate depends on the game, its settings, the phone’s cooling and the display.

Qualcomm lists a Release 17 modem with a 2.8 Gbps peak download and 900 Mbps peak upload. MediaTek lists a Release 16 modem with a 3.3 Gbps peak download and 2CC carrier aggregation. These are maximum theoretical rates. Real throughput depends on the carrier’s network, the bands the phone supports in your market, carrier aggregation in use, antenna design and the regional model. The higher peak download number on the MediaTek page does not mean faster everyday internet on a given phone.

The display is set by the phone, not the chip
MediaTek lists display support up to 2520 × 1080 at 120 Hz. Qualcomm’s page does not state a display ceiling in the text we reviewed. A chip’s maximum display support is an upper limit. A budget phone may ship with a 60 Hz panel, a lower resolution or a lower brightness rating than the chip allows.
Benchmark results: what exists and what it cannot show
The only benchmark figures we found for the Dimensity 6360 Apex come from 91mobiles, which reports results from tested devices. The page’s key-spec section shows a slightly different AnTuTu number from its main benchmark section, so the figures are listed separately below.

| Test | Reported value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu | 588,319 (benchmark section); 588,702 (key-spec section) | Same page, two displayed values; the difference is small but should be stated as shown |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 788 | Device-tested value reported by 91mobiles |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 1,993 | Device-tested value reported by 91mobiles |
| Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 | Not stated | No matched result for this chip was identified |
These numbers describe specific handsets. They do not describe every phone built with the chip, because memory, thermal design, firmware and the benchmark version all affect a score. Without a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 result tested under the same conditions, the Dimensity 6360 Apex figures cannot be compared with it. Treat the figures as a record of one publisher’s test devices, not as a ranking.
Which chip suits which need
The better choice depends on what you plan to do with the phone. The table maps common needs to the checks that matter most.

Checklist before choosing a phone
- Note the exact model number and regional variant. Settings > About phone on most Android phones shows the model number; the box or the retailer listing confirms the region.
- Confirm the chipset in that model’s official specifications, not only in the chip’s general product page.
- Check the RAM and storage configuration, since the same chip can ship with different memory sizes.
- Check the panel’s refresh rate and resolution in the phone’s own specifications.
- Look for independent battery and thermal tests of that specific model.
- Find the update commitment the phone maker publishes for operating system and security patches.
- Confirm that the phone supports the 5G bands used by your carrier.
- Compare benchmark results only when they come from the same test app and version, run on the same handset or on handsets with the same configuration.
- Compare the price in your market, and only then weigh the spec differences.
Used this way, the two chips are best read as two different specification profiles. Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 brings Qualcomm’s 4 nm process, Release 17 modem and smoothness and app-launch claims. Dimensity 6360 Apex brings a fully disclosed CPU layout, Mali-G57 MC2 graphics and a 120 Hz display ceiling. The phone you buy will reveal which profile matters for you.
