Skybox Security announced Cloud Edition on October 11, 2022 as a SaaS version of its security posture management platform for security policy and vulnerability management across hybrid environments. The announcement described capabilities such as network modeling, exposure prioritization, policy analysis, integrations and automated updates. Those feature, performance and availability statements were Skybox claims, not independent test results. Skybox is no longer operating: Tufin says the company closed effective February 24, 2025 and stopped supporting its product.
What Skybox Cloud Edition was
Skybox presented Cloud Edition as a next-generation SaaS offering within its Security Posture Management Platform. Its stated focus was continuous testing of attack feasibility, exposure, remediation options and compliance across on-premises, cloud, operational-technology (OT) and hybrid environments.
The release also called it “the industry’s first” SaaS solution for security policy and vulnerability management. That superlative should remain attributed to Skybox; the announcement did not independently establish it as a market-wide fact.
Capabilities described in the 2022 announcement
Network and attack-surface modeling
Skybox said its network model could represent IT, OT and hybrid-cloud environments. The company described Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management functions that used API integrations to visualize assets, identify security-control gaps and provide remediation options.

Vulnerability and malware prioritization
The announcement said Skybox used its threat intelligence to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and to associate vulnerabilities with malware by name, category and classes such as ransomware, remote-access trojans, botnets, cryptocurrency miners and trojans.
Policy analysis and remediation
Cloud Edition was positioned to analyze security policies, test attack paths and help organizations evaluate exposure, compliance and remediation choices. Skybox said its modeling, path analysis and automation could reduce the risk of a significant data breach by 55 percent. That figure was a quoted company claim tied to a separate Total Economic Impact study; the release did not provide the study’s methodology, so it should not be treated as a general, independently proven result.

Integrations
Skybox reported more than 150 integrations at the time of the release and specifically mentioned AWS firewalls, Cisco ACI and Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cloud. The total was vendor-reported and not independently audited.
SaaS operating model
For Cloud Edition, Skybox claimed less installation and maintenance work, faster deployment, automatic updates, AWS hosting and 24/7 tenant monitoring. The announcement also described flexible SaaS or on-premises deployment for vulnerability and exposure management and scalability across on-premises, cloud, OT and hybrid environments. These were product claims rather than independently verified service-level measurements.
What “available now” means today
Skybox’s October 2022 release said Cloud Edition was available at that time. That historical statement is not evidence of current sales or support.
Tufin’s customer notice says: “On February 24, 2025, Skybox made the difficult decision to close its operations effective immediately.” Tufin’s FAQ says Skybox would no longer support its product. Consequently, readers should not assume that Skybox Cloud Edition can currently be purchased, renewed or supported by Skybox.

Support and migration for former customers
Tufin describes ExpressPath as a transition program for former Skybox customers. The program is described as including special pricing and flexible terms, onboarding, training access and policy-migration assistance. Eligibility, pricing, deadlines and the exact scope of help can change, so an affected organization should confirm current terms directly with Tufin before relying on the offer.
