Keep a Carrd site on one page if its content belongs together and section navigation still helps visitors find their way. Split it into separate Carrd sites when the topics need independent destinations and you can manage them separately; consider a multi-page platform when you need persistent page URLs and independently structured content. There is no established Carrd section-count threshold that determines when a site should split.

Choose based on how visitors use the content

Start with the reader’s journey, not the number of sections. Ask whether visitors arrive for distinct topics, need separate persistent URLs, or benefit from moving through one coherent experience. Also consider how often different parts change and whether you want to maintain them independently. Coherence and maintenance are judgment calls, not platform limits.

  • Keep one page with sections when the material belongs together and visitors benefit from navigating a single designed page.
  • Create multiple Carrd sites when you want separately published sites but can accept maintaining their content and navigation separately.
  • Evaluate a multi-page platform when topics need their own persistent destinations or independently structured content.

Section navigation can mimic page-like jumps while remaining part of one page experience, as Swebsy Docs explains. A section jump and a distinct page destination are not interchangeable.

What Carrd supports for separate sites

Carrd allows multiple sites in one account, with the number governed by the plan’s site-slot allowance. Published sites, drafts, templates, and archived sites consume slots; items in the trash do not, according to Carrd’s site-slot guide.

The plan prices and allowances shown on Carrd’s plans page when checked on October 7, 2026 are:

Plan Price shown Site slots
Pro Lite $9 per year 3
Pro Standard $19 per year 10
Pro Plus $49 per year 25

These are the listed prices and slot counts at that date, not a guarantee of current pricing. Check Carrd’s plans page before choosing a plan. Multiple slots make separate sites possible, but they do not remove the practical work of keeping each site current and its navigation clear.

Account for domains and redirects

Custom domains

Publishing to a custom domain or custom subdomain requires Pro Standard or higher, and the domain must already be registered. Carrd’s custom-domain instructions explain that DNS records point the domain to the Carrd site and are usually configured with the domain provider. Factor in the domain and its setup when comparing separate sites; it is not included simply because your account has site slots.

Slash-style redirects

Carrd supports redirects for paths such as /about to a section, an external URL, or the site itself. The redirect guide presents these as redirects or shortcuts. They can help visitors reach a section, but they do not turn a single-page site into a conventional multi-page content system.

When to consider moving beyond Carrd

If each topic needs a distinct, persistent URL or content that can be structured and maintained as its own page, assess whether a platform designed around multiple pages better fits the job. That is a structural reason to evaluate alternatives, not evidence that moving will improve search rankings. No outcome data establishes an SEO or conversion benefit from splitting a Carrd site.

There is likewise no supported rule that a particular number of sections makes a Carrd page too long. A long scroll that has become hard to navigate or maintain is a useful warning sign, but the decision should rest on whether sections still serve visitors and whether one page still represents the content clearly.

A practical decision checklist

  1. Map visitor intent: If people are looking for separate topics rather than moving through one connected presentation, note that as a case for distinct destinations.
  2. Check URL needs: Decide whether a jump within one page is enough or each topic needs its own persistent URL.
  3. Assess change patterns: Identify whether content is mostly stable or needs to be updated and managed independently.
  4. Check Carrd capacity and domain needs: Confirm available site slots and whether each site needs a custom domain or subdomain.
  5. Compare the maintenance trade-off: Choose separate Carrd sites or another platform only if clearer separation is worth the added work of managing a more divided structure.
