TP-Link has published four security advisories covering seven vulnerability entries in specific versions of Tapo C120 and C200 cameras, the Archer AX90, Deco M9 Plus, and TL-WR841N. The listed fixes are firmware updates. Check your device’s exact hardware revision and region, then install the matching build from TP-Link’s support page. The advisories were last updated October 1, 2026, according to TP-Link’s Product Security Trust Center.
Which TP-Link devices are affected?
The advisories apply to the hardware revisions listed below—not automatically to every version of these product families. TP-Link provides these fixed firmware builds; confirm your device’s revision and region on its official support page before installing.
| Device and affected revision | Attack requirements described by TP-Link | Fixed firmware listed by TP-Link |
|---|---|---|
| Tapo C120 V1 | Unauthenticated access from the same local network for the reported issues | V1_1.9.4 Build 260813 Rel.79754n |
| Tapo C200 V5 | Unauthenticated access from the same local network for the reported issues | V5_1.4.6 Build 260709 Rel.27675n |
| Archer AX90 V1 | Unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network | 1.1.4 Build 20260927 |
| Deco M9 Plus V2 | Unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network | 1.9.2 Build 20260818 |
| TL-WR841N v14 | Authenticated administrator | 4.19 Build 260821 (EN) or 4.19 Build 260820 (US) |
The network-position and authentication details above come from TP-Link’s Tapo, Archer AX90, Deco M9 Plus, and TL-WR841N advisories. “Unauthenticated” does not mean reachable from anywhere: the camera issues require local-network access, and the Archer and Deco issues are described as adjacent-network attacks.
How to update an affected device
- Identify the exact model and hardware revision. Check the product label or device administration interface, then compare it with the affected revision in TP-Link’s advisory.
- Open the product’s official TP-Link support page for your region. Select the matching hardware revision and verify that the firmware build is the one listed in the table.
- Install the matching firmware using TP-Link’s instructions for that model. Do not use a build for a different revision or region.
- After the update, verify the installed version in the device’s administration interface. If the listed build is not offered for your region or revision, contact TP-Link support rather than installing a file intended for another variant.
What the vulnerabilities can do
Tapo C120 and C200: four reported issues
TP-Link reports four vulnerability entries affecting C120 V1 and C200 V5. CVE-2026-9032 is a NULL pointer dereference that can crash the HTTPS service after setup; repeated requests may prolong the denial of service, and recovery may require a reboot. CVE-2026-78578 concerns unauthenticated Wi-Fi reconfiguration that could disconnect a camera from its intended network. CVE-2026-102369 is command injection described as requiring local-network access, replay of login challenge data, activation of a privileged service, and a reboot; TP-Link says it may allow arbitrary command execution and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
#1 Best Overall

- EASY WIRE-FREE INSTALLATION: Place the Tapo SolarCam C402 KIT where you need it without relying on nearby outlets. Install the camera and solar panel together or separately using the included 13 ft cable for flexible placement.
- PRIORITIZE WHAT MATTERS: Set activity zones to monitor specific areas for motion or people. Free person and motion detection helps reduce unwanted alerts and notifies you when activity is detected.
- VERSATILE VIDEO STORAGE: Store footage locally via a microSD card (up to 512GB)* or via cloud with a Tapo Care cloud subscription. Tailor your security to suit your needs, whether indoor or outdoor, you have the storage option you need.
- FULL-COLOR 1080P, DAY AND NIGHT: See clearly in low light with a large-aperture lens and built-in spotlights. Capture full-color night vision up to 30 ft away to monitor for possible intruders or motion.
The remaining onboarding scan information-disclosure issue has an unresolved identifier discrepancy in TP-Link’s advisory: its title uses CVE-2026-78579, while the body uses CVE-2026-78577. Do not assume one identifier is correct without confirmation from TP-Link. TP-Link publishes CVSS 4.0 scores of 7.1, 5.3, 7.1, and 8.7 across the four entries; the advisory’s discrepancy should be kept in mind when matching the information-disclosure issue to an identifier. Details are in the Tapo advisory.
Archer AX90: command injection during boot
CVE-2026-84682 affects Archer AX90 V1. TP-Link describes a TDDPv2 setProductVer command-injection vulnerability in /usr/bin/tddp. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network may execute operating-system commands as root during device boot, potentially compromising the device. TP-Link assigns CVSS 4.0 7.7 / High. The fixed build is 1.1.4 Build 20260927. See the Archer AX90 advisory.

The advisory describes a stack-based buffer overflow in the TDDPv2 subtype 0x91 handler: decrypted request length is not adequately validated before data is copied into a fixed-size stack buffer. An unauthenticated adjacent-network attacker may cause denial of service or achieve arbitrary code execution during device setup. TP-Link assigns CVSS 4.0 7.7 / High and lists 1.9.2 Build 20260818 as fixed. See the Deco M9 Plus advisory.
TL-WR841N: command injection in IPv6 WAN configuration
CVE-2026-102294 affects TL-WR841N v14. TP-Link says an authenticated administrator could supply a crafted IPv6 Gateway value that is incorporated into a system command, enabling operating-system command injection. The stated potential impacts include access to sensitive information, configuration or service changes, and disruption of operation. TP-Link assigns CVSS 4.0 8.5 / High. The listed fixes are 4.19 Build 260821 (EN) and 4.19 Build 260820 (US). See the TL-WR841N advisory.

How to interpret the severity scores
TP-Link reports scores using CVSS 4.0: 7.1, 5.3, 7.1, and 8.7 for the four Tapo entries; 7.7 for Archer AX90; 7.7 for Deco M9 Plus; and 8.5 for TL-WR841N. These are vendor-published scores, not a measure of how likely a particular device is to be attacked in your circumstances. The required network position and privileges matter: Tapo requires local-network positioning, Archer and Deco are described as adjacent-network issues, and the TL-WR841N command injection requires an authenticated administrator.
TP-Link’s four relevant advisories are listed in its Product Security Trust Center and were each marked last updated October 1, 2026. The reviewed advisories do not establish how many devices are affected or indicate that these vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild.
