If you use Jenkins, the Email Extension plugin provides the emailext Pipeline step. JMeter can also send SMTP mail itself, but its SMTP Sampler stores the test-plan password unencrypted, so it is a poor choice for reusable production credentials.
Generate the HTML dashboard after a JMeter run
JMeter can produce a dashboard at the end of a load test or create one later from an existing results log. Run the test and create the report in one non-GUI command:
jmeter -n -t test.jmx -l results.jtl -e -o reportThis runs test.jmx, writes sample results to results.jtl, and generates the HTML dashboard in report. Keep the results and report available in the job workspace until the email step finishes. Use an output folder that is empty or unique for each run because dashboard generation writes files into that folder.

jmeter -g results.jtl -o reportThe dashboard presents APDEX, request success and failure summaries, transaction statistics, an error table, top errors, and charts including response time, active threads, throughput, and response codes. Dashboard settings can be customized through report-generator properties; the JMeter manual describes copying relevant settings from reportgenerator.properties into user.properties.
Check the results data before automating delivery
A dashboard is only as useful as the sample fields recorded in the results log. JMeter’s documented defaults include label, latency, response code and message, success, thread counts, time, and connect time. Check the save-service configuration if it has been changed; missing fields can affect what the report can calculate or display.

Email the report from Jenkins
For a Jenkins job, configure the Email Extension plugin’s SMTP settings globally to match your mail server, then use emailext after report generation. The plugin supports configurable recipients, triggers, message content, attachment patterns, and templates. A Pipeline sketch is:

The example assumes the dashboard is archived and that recipients can access the archived build artifacts; it does not configure artifact publishing. Configure that separately using the mechanism available in your Jenkins installation. If recipients need an offline copy, use an attachment pattern for appropriate report files. The plugin supports attachment patterns, but there is no universally prescribed packaging strategy for a dashboard.

Choose the post-build behavior deliberately: always sends after any job result, while the plugin’s configurable triggers allow other notification policies. Avoid sending a dashboard link unless the artifact will remain stored and its intended recipients have permission to open it.
Choose where email delivery belongs

These methods put delivery logic in different places: the build orchestration or the test plan. Choose based on when the message should be sent, how recipients access the report, and how credentials are protected. For unattended delivery with reusable mail credentials, use your CI platform’s protected credential mechanism rather than saving the password in a JMeter plan. Configure TLS appropriately; trusting all certificates should not be a normal production shortcut.
