Sell your OnePlus phone now only if a current, model-specific offer beats the value you get from keeping it and the replacement is worth its cost. There is no reliable one-size-fits-all price or sell-now answer: model, condition, country, and payment terms all matter. Get a private-sale estimate and a local trade-in quote before deciding.
Start with your phone’s real net value
There is no current, reliable resale price for an unspecified OnePlus model, storage configuration, condition, and country. A search-result estimate—or a quote for a different model—is not an appraisal. Check current offers for your exact device and compare what you would actually receive, not just the largest number displayed.

- Private sale: Estimate the sale price, then subtract marketplace fees, shipping, and any repair or preparation costs. Factor in the time and uncertainty of listing, negotiating, and finding a buyer.
- Trade-in: Check eligibility, shipping costs, deadlines, inspection rules, and the form of payment. A coupon or store credit is worth less to you if you cannot use it for a purchase you already plan to make.
- Keeping the phone: Consider whether it still meets your needs and what a replacement would cost. An offer is not automatically worthwhile if replacing a usable phone costs more than the benefit of upgrading.
OnePlus says its US trade-in partner determines a device’s market value, and inspection can change the offer if the actual model or condition differs from what you reported. The company also notes that trade-in sites can value devices differently because their description lists differ. Compare the terms and net value of the actual options available to you. What OnePlus’s “2% each week” statement means
OnePlus’s undated US trade-in terms say a device’s trade-in value “may decrease approximately 2% each week” as it ages. The terms attribute changes to marketplace demand, device inventory, seasonal inventory sell-offs, and overall age. This is an approximate statement about the US program—not a guaranteed weekly reduction for your particular model, a forecast of its private-sale price, or a figure established for every country.

Use the statement as a reason to check current offers rather than as a countdown that tells you when to sell. Your phone’s actual quote and the value of continuing to use it are more relevant than applying that percentage to an assumed starting price.
When the US OnePlus trade-in route fits
The US program is tied to a new OnePlus purchase, so it may suit someone already planning to buy an eligible phone from OnePlus. Its terms can make the displayed estimate different from the value you ultimately receive.
- The US FAQ describes completing a new-phone purchase and shipping the old device within 21 days. Confirm the live offer’s deadline and requirements before ordering or sending your phone.
- A trade-in may be paid as a OnePlus cash coupon for use on the company’s online stores in the US and Canada. The FAQ says coupons are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash, credit, or other gifts. A coupon is useful only if its restrictions fit your intended purchase.
- Inspection may lead to a revised offer. The FAQ says you can reject a revised offer within seven days and have the phone returned at no extra cost; failing to respond can count as acceptance. Read the terms attached to your offer, since program details can change.
OnePlus describes its current US trade-in route and offers on its US trade-in page. A displayed amount is not necessarily cash in hand: check the payment form, eligibility, inspection process, and shipping requirements together.
Check support news for your region and model
Do not sell solely because you have heard that OnePlus support has ended. OnePlus’s US business-adjustment notice says existing devices will continue receiving software updates, security patches, and after-sales support. That company statement does not guarantee a particular future update date, repair, or service location in every market.
July 16, 2026 reporting described OnePlus business changes in the US and Europe, while operations in India were reported separately. Regional developments should not be treated as proof that support ended everywhere. Check the latest information for your country and exact model before making support the deciding factor. TechRadar’s July 16, 2026 report
India has a separate OnePlus exchange route, whose terms name Cashify as the partner and specify that the exchange page is for people located in India. Those terms do not establish what a particular phone is worth today. OnePlus India exchange instructions
Quick Recap
Make the decision in five steps
- Identify the exact device. Record its model, storage, condition, battery state, repair history, carrier-lock status, and included items. Be accurate: a mismatch can affect an inspected trade-in offer.
- Get local quotes. Check at least one private-sale route and each relevant official or retailer trade-in option available in your country. Use offers for your exact model and condition, not broad estimates or search snippets.
- Calculate usable proceeds. For a private sale, subtract fees, shipping, and preparation costs. For a trade-in, account for coupon restrictions, eligibility, bonuses, inspection, deadlines, and whether the payment can be used for a purchase you intend to make.
- Compare proceeds with keeping or replacing it. Sell when the current net offer is attractive compared with the value of continued use and the replacement is worth its cost. Keep it when it still meets your needs and available offers are poor.
- Prepare it safely if you sell. Back up your data, remove accounts and activation locks, erase personal data, and remove SIM and memory cards. OnePlus’s US FAQ recommends removing locks and taking four photos; follow the directions in your live offer. Pack the device securely, photograph it and the shipping label, and keep the shipping receipt.
