There is no proven universal winner. ApiFlash has the lower published entry price, while ScreenshotOne Basic lists twice the monthly screenshot allowance. For 10,000 screenshots per month, ApiFlash’s listed plan costs less; feature bundles and request limits still matter. Neither provider’s published materials establish which service is faster, more reliable, or more visually accurate, so compare the requirements and test both on pages like yours.

ScreenshotOne vs ApiFlash at a glance

Both are hosted website screenshot APIs: send a URL and capture options to an endpoint, and the service renders the page and returns an image. ScreenshotOne documents GET and POST requests and recommends HTTPS. ApiFlash documents HTTPS GET and POST requests authenticated with an access key. ApiFlash describes its infrastructure as Chrome-based and running on AWS Lambda; that is the provider’s description, not independent evidence of performance.

Comparison ScreenshotOne ApiFlash
Lowest listed paid plan Basic: $17/month for 2,000 screenshots Lite: $7/month for 1,000 screenshots
Listed plan at 10,000 screenshots/month Growth: $79/month Medium: $35/month
Free allowance 100 screenshots/month 100 screenshots; recurrence period is not stated on the cited plan page
Published request limit Basic 40, Growth 80, Scale 150 requests/minute 20 requests/second sustained, burst size 400; excess requests may be delayed or receive HTTP 429
Common listed capabilities PNG, JPEG, WebP; full-page and mobile capture; ad and cookie-banner handling; S3 delivery PNG, JPEG, WebP; full-page and mobile capture; ad and cookie-banner handling; S3 delivery

Prices, quotas, and limits in the table are vendor-published terms accessed on October 3, 2026; verify current terms before buying. ScreenshotOne’s pricing is at ScreenshotOne pricing; ApiFlash plan details are at ApiFlash.

Compare the plans by workload, not just price

ApiFlash’s listed entry plan is cheaper, but it includes 1,000 screenshots versus 2,000 on ScreenshotOne Basic. At the 10,000-per-month level, ApiFlash Medium is listed at $35 and ScreenshotOne Growth at $79. These are not identical bundles, so the lower nominal price does not by itself determine the better fit.

ApiFlash Medium $35 10,000 Same listed core features as Lite; priority support
ApiFlash Large $180 100,000 Same listed core features as Lite; premium support

ScreenshotOne lists 100 free screenshots per month. ApiFlash lists a free plan with 100 screenshots, but the cited plan description does not establish the allowance’s recurrence. The providers count usage differently: ScreenshotOne says successful, uncached unique renders count; ApiFlash says cached and failed screenshots do not count. Confirm how retries and visually defective captures are treated for your account.

Features: shared basics and different options

Both vendors list PNG, JPEG, and WebP output, full-page and mobile capture, ad blocking, cookie-banner handling, and S3 delivery. Those labels indicate overlap, not identical behavior; test the exact page and capture settings your application needs.

  • ScreenshotOne: Its published feature list also includes PDF and HTML rendering, caching, webhooks, signed links, stealth mode, and integrations such as Zapier and Make. Feature availability varies by plan.
  • ApiFlash: Its documentation describes viewport dimensions, full-page capture, element selectors, CSS and JavaScript injection, cookies and headers, wait conditions, location parameters, extracted HTML or text, and S3-compatible output.

ApiFlash’s documented controls are described in its API documentation. Check both providers’ current documentation for parameter behavior and plan restrictions rather than assuming similarly named settings work the same way.

Understand the rate limits

Monthly capacity and burst capacity answer different questions. ScreenshotOne lists per-minute limits by plan: 40 requests/minute on Basic, 80 on Growth, and 150 on Scale. ApiFlash documents a leaky-bucket limit of 20 requests/second sustained with a burst size of 400. Requests past the sustained rate are delayed; requests exceeding the burst can receive HTTP 429.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Estimate your peak request pattern, not only your monthly total. A batch that arrives all at once can behave differently from the same volume spread evenly across a month. ApiFlash’s limit description is in its documentation.

Which API should you choose?

Choose based on price and monthly volume

If the lowest listed paid entry price is the deciding factor and 1,000 screenshots cover your workload, ApiFlash Lite is the lower-cost starting point. If you need 2,000 and want a plan that lists that allowance, ScreenshotOne Basic is $17/month. At 10,000 listed screenshots, ApiFlash Medium costs less than ScreenshotOne Growth, but compare the included features and support before deciding.

Choose based on feature fit

Make a shortlist of must-haves—such as PDF or HTML output, element capture, dynamic-content waits, location, storage, or integrations—and confirm that each is available on the plan you would buy. For ad or consent cleanup, verify the result on your own target sites; a feature label alone does not establish visual equivalence.

Choose based on traffic shape and operational needs

Map both the average and burst request rate to the published limits. Include likely retries, cache behavior, and overage costs in your estimate. If a service-level commitment or public uptime history is required, ask the provider for the applicable terms. ApiFlash says it does not publicly display uptime statistics; the available vendor information does not establish a controlled head-to-head reliability result.

How to make a fair trial

  1. Estimate unique captures in a billing month and identify which URLs can be served from a cache.
  2. Pick the lowest plan that covers expected usage, then account for overages, rate limits, and support requirements.
  3. List must-have capture behaviors: viewport and mobile sizes, full-page or element shots, output format, waits for dynamic content, cookie or ad handling, geolocation, and storage or integrations.
  4. Send the same representative URLs and equivalent options to both services. Include slow-loading pages and lazy-loaded images if those are part of the workload.
  5. Compare the returned images for completeness and consistency, observe how errors and retries are handled, and check the response behavior under your expected burst pattern.
  6. Confirm the current price, quota, plan restrictions, and any service-level commitment directly with each provider before production use.

What the published evidence does not settle

Neither plan pages nor feature lists establish a controlled comparison of rendering speed, uptime, or visual fidelity. ApiFlash’s infrastructure description is not a benchmark, and ApiFlash’s FAQ says its uptime statistics are not publicly displayed. Treat those questions as trial criteria and obtain any operational commitments you need from the vendor. The prices and plan details above are a snapshot of vendor pages accessed October 3, 2026, not a guarantee of future terms.

ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first if you want a one-call screenshot API with cleanup and explicit page-verdict billing information. Its endpoint accepts a URL and returns an image or PDF; the cURL example below saves a WebP capture. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
