Quick answer: Screenshotlayer starts with a free plan listing 100 snapshots per month and paid plans from $19.99 monthly; Urlbox offers a seven-day free trial and paid plans from $19 monthly. Their feature bundles and usage rules differ, so the lower starting price does not by itself tell you which will cost less for your workload. ScreenshotNeo is the alternative to try first if you want consent banners, popups and chat widgets removed before capture and billing limited to clean shots.

Important usage distinction Snapshots, workers and feature availability vary by tier. Allowance and advanced-feature consumption vary by plan and usage rules; render duration and file size can also affect render use.

These are vendor-published descriptions, not independent tests. Prices and plan details were reviewed on October 3, 2026, and may change. Check Screenshotlayer’s pricing page and Urlbox’s pricing page before committing.

How the feature sets differ

Screenshotlayer: straightforward screenshot controls

Screenshotlayer’s product page emphasizes screenshots sized to a viewport or the full page, with thumbnail options and controls such as custom CSS and capture timing. Its listed output formats include PNG, JPEG and GIF, while its paid-plan information also lists WebP. Plan distinctions matter: the pricing page ties some capabilities and dedicated workers to specific tiers, and S3/FTP export is listed for Professional and Enterprise. See the Screenshotlayer product page for its own feature descriptions.

Urlbox: broader rendering and output options

Urlbox describes more than image screenshots: its product and documentation pages cover PDF and video output as well as text, HTML and metadata extraction. Its controls include responsive viewports, full-page or element captures, hidden elements, custom JavaScript, proxy use and geographic rendering. The breadth is useful if one API needs to support several rendering or extraction tasks, but confirm which plan and consumption rules apply to the features you need. See Urlbox’s screenshot API page and its documentation.

Which API is cheaper?

At the lowest published paid tier, Urlbox is $19 per month for 2,000 renders, while Screenshotlayer Basic is $19.99 per month for 10,000 snapshots. That is not an apples-to-apples price comparison: Screenshotlayer lists five times the monthly quantity at a slightly higher entry price, but the products’ plan features and usage accounting are not identical. A free Screenshotlayer plan lists 100 monthly snapshots and is designated non-commercial; Urlbox instead advertises a seven-day trial without a card.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

For higher volumes, compare the required tier and its actual limits rather than dividing list price by headline allowance alone. Screenshotlayer describes dedicated workers as handling screenshot jobs concurrently. Urlbox separates low-fidelity, high-fidelity, complex-rendering and business offerings, with differences in request rates, support and business provisions. Urlbox also says render duration, file size and advanced features can affect usage. Review overage rules, feature consumption, concurrency and annual discounts on the current vendor pricing pages before estimating total cost.

How to choose for your workload

  • Rendering fidelity: Test pages representative of your application, including modern fonts, canvas content, delayed elements and long full-page layouts.
  • Inputs and outputs: Confirm whether you need URL-only capture or HTML input, which image formats matter, and whether PDF, video, text or metadata extraction is required.
  • Control and access: Check viewport and element targeting, injected CSS or JavaScript, headers, proxy or geographic controls, and any privacy requirements.
  • Workload: Estimate monthly volume and concurrency, then compare request-rate limits, latency needs and retry behavior.
  • Cost mechanics: Verify included volume, overages, advanced-feature consumption, cache treatment and annual-billing discounts.
  • Operations: Compare SDKs, synchronous versus asynchronous workflows, webhooks, storage exports, support and any service-level commitments relevant to your application.

Neither vendor should be declared faster or more accurate based on the published pages alone. No independent head-to-head speed or accuracy test is established here. Trial both against the same representative URLs and settings, then compare output quality, completion behavior and effective consumption under your own workload.
