Short answer: Urlbox and ScreenshotOne both provide hosted APIs for capturing webpages, but they differ in documented output types, workflow options, quotas, and plan limits. Consider Urlbox if video capture or extracting text, metadata, or hydrated HTML is central. Consider ScreenshotOne if its documented free monthly allowance, request limits, and integrations fit your workload. Neither vendor’s published material establishes an independent winner for speed, visual fidelity, or reliability. If you want a third option, ScreenshotNeo puts clean captures and billing only for clean shots at the center of its service; see ScreenshotNeo.
Urlbox vs ScreenshotOne at a glance
The figures below are vendor-published terms visible on October 3, 2026. Pricing, quotas, tier names, and features can change; check the linked plan pages for current terms, billing frequency, and applicable taxes before buying.
| Category | Urlbox | ScreenshotOne |
|---|---|---|
| Listed entry paid plan | Lo-Fi: $19/month, 2,000 renders | Basic: $17/month, 2,000 screenshots |
| Other listed plans | Hi-Fi: $49/month for 5,000 renders; Ultra: $99/month for 15,000; Business: $498/month; Enterprise: from $3,000/month | Growth: $79/month for 10,000 screenshots; Scale: $259/month for 50,000 |
| Free access | Seven-day free trial advertised on listed plans; no continuing free plan stated | Up to 100 screenshots per month advertised, including URL, HTML, and PDF cases |
| Published request-rate examples | Lo-Fi: 30 requests/minute; Business: 1,000 requests/minute | Basic: 40 requests/minute; Growth: 80; Scale: 150 |
| Documented outputs | Screenshots, PDFs, videos, text/markdown, metadata, and hydrated HTML | Images, raw HTML responses, and PDF rendering |
| Request patterns | Render links and synchronous or asynchronous POST to a JSON API; async jobs can be polled or handled with webhooks | GET and POST over HTTPS; POST options are JSON, with documented request bodies up to 100 MiB |
Plan quotas and request rates are not direct measures of comparable throughput. A render’s duration, payload, caching, feature requirements, and vendor-specific quota rules can change what a given workload costs or how it behaves.
How the APIs and outputs differ
Request workflow
Urlbox documents render links as well as synchronous and asynchronous POST workflows. Its async jobs can be polled or delivered through webhooks, which may suit jobs that take too long for a caller to hold an open request. See the Urlbox documentation and Screenshot API product page for implementation details.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
ScreenshotOne documents both GET and POST requests. GET is a straightforward fit when options can be expressed in a URL; POST supports JSON options and bodies up to 100 MiB, which is useful when request configuration is larger. The vendor’s getting-started guide says, “Always call the ScreenshotOne API over HTTPS.” See ScreenshotOne Getting Started.
Output requirements
Both services cover webpage screenshots, and both document PDF-related functionality. Urlbox’s documented output range also includes videos, text or markdown extraction, metadata, and hydrated HTML. That breadth matters if the capture pipeline needs more than a static image. ScreenshotOne documents image output and raw HTML responses in its getting-started materials; its pricing page lists image formats and PDF. Check the exact output and plan requirements for your intended use rather than assuming similarly named functions behave identically.

Rendering controls
Urlbox describes more than 100 rendering options, including responsive and full-page captures, element-level captures, and clean captures. ScreenshotOne’s options reference documents viewport and device controls, selectors and scrolling, image formats, banner and ad blocking, and GPU rendering requests with a fallback caveat. Compare the precise behavior you need in the respective references: Urlbox docs and ScreenshotOne options.
Compare the plans against your workload
Rates, timeouts, and payloads are separate constraints
Urlbox lists plan-specific request rates, timeouts, and file-size limits. For example, the October 3, 2026 pricing page lists Lo-Fi at 30 requests per minute, 30-second timeouts, and 2.5 MB; Business is listed at 1,000 requests per minute and 300-second timeouts. ScreenshotOne’s page lists 40, 80, and 150 requests per minute on Basic, Growth, and Scale, respectively; its docs state that POST request bodies can be up to 100 MiB. These values describe different dimensions and should not be treated as a benchmark of actual capture speed or total throughput. Check each plan’s full current limits at Urlbox pricing and ScreenshotOne pricing.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Quota and cache rules affect effective cost
Urlbox says Render Links are cached for 30 days by default, with TTL and force options. Cached links do not count, while first renders and REST API screenshots count. Its pricing page also explains that long renders, file size, archive retention, GPU use, and advanced features can affect render consumption.

ScreenshotOne says only successful, non-cached screenshots count; cache-miss rerenders may use quota. Overage behavior depends on the plan or account. These are vendor-specific definitions, so do not compare the plan quotas as if one “render” or “screenshot” necessarily means the same billable event at both services.
Integrations and feature gates
Urlbox lists Zapier and webhooks on eligible tiers, with S3 or S3-compatible storage available on some plans. ScreenshotOne lists Zapier, Make and similar tools, webhooks, and S3 upload in paid-plan details. Confirm that the integration and any advanced rendering feature you require are included in the exact plan being considered.

Which service should you choose?
- Consider Urlbox when video capture or extraction of text/markdown, metadata, or hydrated HTML is a key requirement, or when its render-link and asynchronous POST workflows fit your integration. Verify the relevant feature and consumption rules for your plan.
- Consider ScreenshotOne when its documented allowance of up to 100 screenshots per month is useful for evaluation or a small workload, or when its listed request rates, POST payload support, and integrations match your needs. Confirm what counts toward your account quota.
- Compare both directly when image or PDF capture is the main need. Test representative pages and options in your own application, then check resulting output, latency, failure handling, and quota behavior against your requirements.
What the published evidence does not establish
The reviewed official pages do not provide an independent side-by-side measurement of capture speed, success rate, visual fidelity, or reliability. Vendor feature descriptions and limits are useful for selecting a plan and implementation pattern, but they do not prove that one service performs better on your pages. A fair decision on those dimensions requires your own representative testing or separate, disclosed comparative measurements.

ScreenshotNeo is another option to try first if clean captures and predictable billing matter. A single GET request can return a screenshot or PDF; the response identifies the page verdict and whether it was billed. Cookie banners and consent notices, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture, and each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. ScreenshotNeo also provides an MCP server with take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents and other MCP clients. Its free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card required; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. See the ScreenshotNeo API docs for options.
