“Reverse screen mirroring” can mean several different things: showing the same computer image on two screens, sending a device’s display to a TV or projector, viewing and controlling a display from a phone, or flipping an image left-to-right. Choose the matching goal first; these operations are not interchangeable.
- Same picture on two screens: use Duplicate on Windows.
- Send a Windows PC image to a wireless display: connect to a compatible Miracast receiver.
- Mirror an iPhone or iPad to a display: use AirPlay with a compatible receiver.
- See or control a projector/display interface on a phone: follow that exact product’s instructions.
- Flip text or an image horizontally: ordinary mirroring and screen rotation do not do this.
What do you mean by “reverse screen mirroring”?
The phrase has no single universal meaning. Some manufacturers use it for a display-to-phone connection, while everyday users may mean casting to a display or reflecting an image left-to-right. Identify the direction of the connection and the change you want before choosing a setting.

Show the same Windows screen on two displays
For a wired or already-connected second display, Windows offers Duplicate and Extend display modes. Duplicate repeats the same content on each display; Extend makes the displays act as a larger desktop so you can move windows between them. Neither mode reverses the image.

- Connect the second display to the PC.
- Press Windows+P to open the projection options.
- Select Duplicate to show the same desktop on both screens, or Extend to use the second screen as additional workspace.
The other Windows+P choices are PC screen only and Second screen only. Microsoft’s instructions cover Windows 11 and Windows 10 in its screen mirroring and projection guidance and multiple-monitor instructions. Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025, so its inclusion in those instructions does not mean it remains supported.

Cast a Windows PC to a TV or projector
This is wireless projection from the PC to a receiving display, not a way to make the projector’s interface appear on the PC or phone. Microsoft says the target must support Miracast; a Miracast dongle or adapter connected to a display is one possible receiver.
- Make sure the TV, projector, or other receiving display supports Miracast, or has a suitable Miracast receiver connected.
- On Windows 11, press Windows+K.
- Select the wireless display from the available list.
- To choose whether the picture is duplicated or extended, press Windows+P and select the mode you need.
If the display is missing, check that Wi-Fi is on. If the receiver is another PC, Microsoft says to install and launch the Wireless Display optional feature on that receiving computer. Wi-Fi availability by itself does not guarantee that a TV, projector, or computer can receive a wireless display connection. Mirror an iPhone or iPad to a display
Apple’s documented AirPlay mirroring sends the iPhone or iPad screen to an Apple TV, an AirPlay-compatible smart TV, or a Mac. It is ordinary device-to-display mirroring, not a general method for showing a TV or projector interface back on the phone.

- Connect the iPhone or iPad and receiving device to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Control Center on the iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Choose the compatible receiver.

View or control a display from a phone
Some products use “reverse screen mirroring” for a connection in the opposite direction: the phone displays or controls an interface hosted by a projector or conference display. These are product-specific features, not a standard setting shared by phones and displays.
Hikvision WonderCast conference display
The WonderCast Operation Manual, Version 2.3.0, dated June 1, 2022, describes an iOS-to-panel mirroring setup. It requires the iOS device and server to be on the same LAN, AirPlay Visible to be enabled in server settings, and the panel to be selected from the iOS device’s Control Center Screen Mirroring list. The manual’s use of “reverse screen mirroring” does not establish that other products use the term in the same way. Follow the current instructions for the exact WonderCast setup.

KODAK LUMA 350 projector
The LUMA 350 Quick Start Manual describes reverse mirroring as viewing the projector’s interface on a phone and navigating it. Its steps are to get the KODAK LUMA Companion App, connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the projector, and pair through the app. This is a particular projector’s phone-control feature, not a way to flip the projected picture. Because the manual is older, check current app availability and compatibility for the specific phone and projector before relying on these steps.
Can you flip a mirrored screen left-to-right?
Not with the Windows Duplicate or Extend choices, and not by rotating a display. Microsoft’s orientation controls change screen orientation—for example, to use a display in portrait orientation—rather than reflect its contents horizontally. The cited Windows and Apple instructions describe projection, display modes, orientation, and AirPlay mirroring; they do not establish a universal control for horizontally flipping a mirrored image.
If you need a flipped camera preview, teleprompter view, rear-projection image, or accessibility transformation, check the settings and current documentation for the exact operating system, graphics driver, camera app, or display model involved. A feature in one app or device should not be assumed to exist across other mirroring setups.
