If Save Page WE saves an Indian news article but leaves out pictures, first confirm the images appear on the live page. Then enable its lazy-content and lazy-image loading options, wait for the page to finish rendering, and check the saved-item mode. If images still disappear, compare the same page in another browser and temporarily disable other extensions to isolate the cause. The available evidence does not point to one universal problem—or identify a particular Indian publisher as the cause.
First, find out where the images go missing
Open the article normally and check whether the images appear before saving. If they are missing on the live page too, Save Page WE cannot reliably capture them; reload the page and give it time to render. If the live page shows the pictures but the saved HTML does not, focus on lazy loading, timing, saved-item selection, or a browser or site delivery issue.
- Only images lower on the page are missing: they may load only after scrolling.
- Images appear after a wait: the page may render them after its text.
- The live page is missing them too: investigate the page itself before the archive.
Save Page WE saves a webpage as a single HTML file. Its available controls include loading lazy content and choosing which items to save. The exact labels may vary by installed version; if a label below differs, check the options in your version.

News pages may defer pictures until the reader scrolls or until scripts finish rendering. Save Page WE provides separate controls for lazy content and lazy images in existing content.
#1 Best Overall
- Open Save Page WE’s options from your browser’s extensions menu.
- Enable Load lazy content before saving. The extension offers Scroll Page and Shrink Page methods.
- Also enable Load lazy images in existing content before saving.
- Return to the article, reload it, wait for the page to settle, and save it again.
These settings are relevant when images are deferred, but they cannot guarantee that every site will provide every resource to the extension.
Wait for slow or script-driven images
Some pages show text first and deliver images later. Save Page WE exposes a delay before saving and configurable lazy-loading timing controls. Try a short delay if pictures appear on the live page only after a pause; there is no single correct delay for every site. Let the article finish rendering before you capture it.

Check which items the archive includes
Save Page WE distinguishes Basic, Standard, and Custom saved-item modes. Review the selected mode and, after saving, check any warning or unsaved-resource list the extension provides. If the archive reports a resource it could not save, that points toward a resource-loading or delivery problem rather than simply a missing image in the live article.
Test the browser without changing the site
If the settings do not help, isolate browser-side causes before concluding that the news site is responsible. Mozilla recommends testing another browser, disabling extensions one at a time, and clearing site data when a page displays incorrectly. Content blockers, tracking protection, or extensions that modify pages can sometimes interfere; JavaScript may also be blocked by an extension or security software.
- Open the same article in another browser and check whether its images load there.
- Temporarily disable other content-blocking or page-modifying extensions, then retry Save Page WE.
- If needed, test the page with site data cleared.
- Re-enable protections after the targeted test if they were not the cause.
Change one thing at a time and compare the live article with its saved copy. That makes it easier to tell whether the problem follows the page, browser, or another extension.
When the site’s image response may be the problem
A website can deliver an image in a way the browser refuses to use. Chromium documents a rare case in which a real image is served with the incorrect Content-Type: text/html header and X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff; the browser may block it. This is a possible failure mode, not evidence that any particular Indian news website has misconfigured its images. It matters only if diagnostics for the affected page show that response problem; the website operator would need to correct the headers.

Do not treat WebP or AVIF alone as a diagnosis. They are modern image formats, but their presence does not establish why Save Page WE omitted an image.
Or skip the browser setup:
For a screenshot rather than a single-file HTML archive, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request website screenshot API. It can remove cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
For example, this cURL request saves a screenshot of the article as WebP:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/article -o shot.webp
Replace the example URL with the article URL. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot service, not a way to repair a missing image in a Save Page WE HTML archive. Learn more at ScreenshotNeo, or sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month with no card.
Quick Recap
Quick troubleshooting checklist
- Image missing in live article: reload and allow it to render; the archive cannot reliably capture an image the page itself does not show.
- Image appears after scrolling: enable lazy-content and lazy-image loading.
- Image arrives late: try a short pre-save delay.
- Only some items are saved: inspect Basic, Standard, or Custom mode and any unsaved-resource notice.
- Behavior changes in another browser or with extensions disabled: investigate browser protections or extension conflicts.
- Diagnostics show a wrongly labeled image response: the site operator may need to correct its response headers.
