Samsung’s Nearby Device Scanning app changelog has reportedly named One UI 9.5, but the reference is not a full announcement of the software update. Reports published October 2, 2026 say the changelog gives no feature list, release date, or confirmed list of eligible devices.
What Samsung’s app changelog reportedly says
TecheNet reported on October 2, 2026, that One UI 9.5 appeared explicitly in the changelog for an update to Nearby Device Scanning, a Galaxy system component that detects nearby devices and helps users set them up. The publication described this as the first explicit mention in a Samsung app, distinguishing it from earlier references in code, test servers, and unreleased builds. TecheNet
PhonAndroid identified the app release as version 11.1.24.8 and reproduced the changelog wording as “ONEUI 9.5 updates,” followed by support for quick-pair popups for new devices, plus bug fixes and stability improvements. It attributed the discovery to Kailash, who shared it on X on October 1, 2026. PhonAndroid
The careful interpretation is that a Samsung app changelog is reported to reference One UI 9.5. It does not establish that Samsung has publicly announced the operating-system update or explained what it will include.

What the mention confirms—and what it does not
- It confirms a reported app-level reference: the One UI 9.5 name appears in the changelog described by the October reports.
- It does not confirm One UI 9.5 features: the quick-pair wording concerns Nearby Device Scanning app support, not a complete feature list for the operating-system update.
- It does not establish a release date: the cited reporting says Samsung had not provided timing.
- It does not identify eligible phones: no compatible-device list had been published in the cited reports.
TecheNet and PhonAndroid both noted the absence of a public feature breakdown and release timing; TecheNet also noted that a compatibility list was not available. TecheNet’s report on what remains unknown
When will One UI 9.5 arrive?
The changelog reference does not say when One UI 9.5 will launch. The October 2 reports give no release date, so any specific rollout timeline would go beyond the available information.

For dated context only, SammyGuru’s August 17, 2026 tracker said One UI 9.5 was not then publicly available and that there was no public beta or official download at that time. That predates the October changelog report and should not be treated as a current installation-status check. SammyGuru’s August 17 tracker

Which Samsung devices will get One UI 9.5?
Samsung had not published a compatible-device list in the reporting cited here. The fact that the name appears in a Nearby Device Scanning changelog does not reveal which Galaxy phones or tablets will receive the full One UI update.

Can you install One UI 9.5 now?
The changelog mention is not an installation announcement and supplies no download instructions. The older August tracker reported no public beta or official download then, but because it predates the October report, it cannot establish whether an installation option is available now. Treat claims about test builds or leaked downloads as separate from a confirmed public release.
