Samsung wireless charging depends on the exact Galaxy model: check compatibility before buying a charger, then match the charger and power setup to the device. For a phone, place it at the center of the pad with no obstruction between the phone and charging surface. If charging fails, check compatibility, positioning, the case, and the power source before seeking service.
Which Samsung devices charge wirelessly?
Wireless charging is not supported across every Samsung product line. Samsung’s US support guidance lists compatible Galaxy S, Note, and Z models, along with selected Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch products. It says Galaxy A, XCover, and Tab devices are not compatible with wireless charging. Check your exact model against Samsung’s wireless-charging compatibility guidance before choosing an accessory; a series name alone is not enough to establish support.
How to choose a Samsung wireless charger
Start with the device model, then consider the charger’s supported speed, shape, power requirements, and whether you need to charge more than one device. Samsung lists several charger options for compatible foldables, but does not provide a controlled head-to-head performance comparison. A charger’s maximum rating is not a promise that every phone will charge at that speed.
| Charger form | Best suited to | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 15W Wireless Charger | A single compatible phone | Confirm the phone supports wireless charging and whether the charger’s speed is supported by that phone. |
| Wireless Charger Duo | Charging multiple devices together | Check that each device is compatible and that the charging positions suit your devices. |
| Wireless Charger Trio | A multi-device setup | Verify compatibility for each device and the required power setup. |
| SmartThings Station | A charging station for compatible devices | Check the exact device support and any power-adapter requirements. |
| 3-in-1 Wireless Charger | A multi-device charging arrangement | Confirm each device is supported; a Galaxy Watch may need its model-specific charging accessory. |
These are charger choices Samsung identifies in its Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE charging guidance. Product availability and bundled power accessories can vary, so check the product listing for the charger you are considering. Fast charging requires a compatible phone and charger; the phone’s supported charging capability also matters.

Set up a Galaxy phone on a wireless charger
- Confirm that the exact phone model supports wireless charging using Samsung’s compatibility guidance.
- Connect the charger using a suitable power source and cable; check the charger’s instructions for any adapter requirements.
- Remove objects or other obstructions from the charging surface. If the phone does not begin charging, remove its case or cover as a troubleshooting check.
- Place the phone in the center of the pad. Samsung’s instruction is: “Place the device in the center of the charging pad and ensure there are no obstructions.”
- For a Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip, close the phone and place it with its rear side facing down.
Samsung provides these placement and troubleshooting steps in its wireless-charging support guide.
Use Wireless PowerShare for occasional charging
Wireless PowerShare lets a supported Galaxy phone act as a charging source for another compatible device. Samsung advises starting with at least 30% battery in its guidance for the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE. Check that both devices support the feature and follow the phone’s on-screen instructions for positioning; Wireless PowerShare is a useful occasional option, not a substitute for choosing a dedicated charger for routine use.

Choose the right Galaxy Watch charging accessory
Watch charging accessories vary by generation. Some Galaxy Watch models use a flat magnetic charging dock, while older models use a different dock type. Confirm the precise watch model and the matching accessory in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch charging guide before ordering a replacement. Do not assume a charger that fits one Watch generation will work with another.
Keep metal or magnetic materials from sitting between the watch and its wireless charger. Samsung warns they can reduce charging efficiency and may damage the watch or charger. Its Galaxy Watch slow or interrupted charging guidance also identifies charger compatibility, adapter capability, moisture, and debris as possible factors.

Fix a Samsung phone that will not charge wirelessly
Work through these checks in order. If the phone still will not charge after them, Samsung directs users toward service.
- Check model support. Confirm that the exact phone model supports wireless charging.
- Reposition the phone. Set it in the center of the charging pad, with the rear side down and no obstruction between the device and pad. Close a Fold or Flip before placing it down.
- Remove the case or cover. Try charging with the phone uncovered to check whether the case is interfering.
- Check the power path. Inspect the cable and power source, and confirm that the adapter can support the charger’s requirements.
- Check for a software update. Install an available update, then test charging again.
- Seek service if the problem continues. After these checks, use Samsung’s support options rather than assuming the phone or charger is defective.

Resolve slow or interrupted Galaxy Watch charging
Use the charger designed for the exact Watch model, then check its connection and charging surface. Remove debris and moisture, and make sure metal or magnetic material is not between the watch and charger. Also check that the adapter and power source can support the charging accessory. Samsung lists these factors in its Watch charging troubleshooting guidance; if charging remains unreliable, follow the support steps for that model.
