If Samsung Quick Share is not working on Windows 11, first confirm you have the version intended for your PC: Samsung PCs should use Samsung Quick Share from the Microsoft Store, while Google says its Quick Share for Windows is for non-Samsung PCs. Then check the app’s requirements, wireless radios, visibility settings, and device distance. These checks address common problems such as an unsupported-device message, a missing device, or a transfer that stalls without assuming a single cause.
1. Confirm which Quick Share app is installed
“Quick Share” can refer to Samsung’s app or Google’s Quick Share for Windows. The right version depends on the PC: Google says its Windows app is intended for non-Samsung PCs and is no longer supported on Samsung PCs. Samsung PC owners should use Samsung Quick Share from the Microsoft Store. Start by checking the app name and publisher in Windows before changing settings.
Samsung Quick Share’s availability and PC eligibility can vary by computer family, driver, market, and app release. Check Samsung’s current supported-PC information against your exact model rather than assuming that every Windows 11 computer is eligible. 2. Check the Windows version and architecture
Google’s requirements for Google Quick Share for Windows specify 64-bit Windows 10 or later, with Windows 11 or later required on ARM devices. Those requirements apply to Google’s app, not automatically to Samsung Quick Share. If you are using Google’s version, check whether the PC’s Windows edition and processor architecture meet its stated requirements. A Samsung PC should use Samsung’s version instead.

3. Meet Samsung Quick Share’s account and radio requirements
Samsung lists a Samsung Account, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth among the requirements for Samsung Quick Share. If you use Samsung’s app, sign in to the required Samsung Account, then confirm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on both the PC and the other device. Google’s guidance likewise calls for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to be on for Quick Share.
4. Make the receiving device discoverable
A device may not appear if its sharing or visibility setting does not allow the other device to find it. Check the discoverability setting on both ends and choose a mode that permits the devices involved to see each other. The exact label and location depend on the device and app version, so use the current Quick Share interface rather than following a guessed Windows menu path.

5. Bring the devices closer
For Google Quick Share, Google recommends keeping the devices within 5 m of one another. Move the phone and PC closer, remove obstacles where practical, and try device discovery again. This is Google’s usage guidance, not a measured performance guarantee or a Samsung-specific distance threshold.
6. Check Location when following Google’s troubleshooting guidance
Google’s troubleshooting instructions for Quick Share say to enable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location on both devices when Quick Share is unsupported or not working. If you are using Google Quick Share and the other checks have not helped, verify Location is enabled as well. This is Google’s guidance; Samsung’s listed requirements cited above name Samsung Account, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

7. Update Windows and supported wireless drivers
Samsung recommends keeping Windows and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers current, and its support information sets eligibility criteria for different PC categories. Install updates through Windows Update or the support tools provided by the PC or wireless-adapter manufacturer, and consult Samsung’s current supported-PC information for Samsung Quick Share. A driver update may address a compatibility or connectivity issue, but it is not a guaranteed fix for every transfer problem.
8. Make sure you are not troubleshooting Windows Nearby Sharing by mistake
Windows Nearby Sharing is separate from Samsung Quick Share. If the feature you opened is Microsoft’s Nearby Sharing, Microsoft’s instructions call for enabling Nearby Sharing, choosing an appropriate visibility option, turning on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and using a Private network profile. Do not apply the Private network requirement to Samsung Quick Share without app-specific guidance.

9. For Microsoft Nearby Sharing, check network and power conditions
If a transfer is slow or stops while using Microsoft Nearby Sharing, Microsoft recommends connecting both PCs to the same Wi-Fi network for faster sharing, updating the Wi-Fi driver, and keeping the devices within about 30 feet (10 m). Microsoft also advises checking power and sleep settings if a transfer stops. These are Nearby Sharing recommendations and should not be treated as confirmed behavior or fixes for Samsung Quick Share.
10. Use a wired transfer if the file cannot wait
A cable is a transfer alternative, not a repair for Quick Share. Samsung says users can transfer files to a PC with Link to Windows or a USB cable. If you choose a cable, check that its connectors fit both devices and that it supports data transfer, not charging alone. Samsung does not specify a cable type or transfer rate in the cited support guidance.

Choose the right sharing path

These paths have different compatibility and network guidance. Identify the installed app before applying a troubleshooting step, especially when the symptom is a device that cannot be found or a transfer that stalls.
