Update: Samsung’s One UI 6 Watch Beta 2 was a limited June–July 2024 test release, not a current 2026 update. Watch 6 models received build ZXFB in the United States and South Korea; Watch 5 and Watch 4 models later received ZXG3 mainly in South Korea.
What Samsung One UI 6 Watch Beta 2 was
Beta 2 was the second test build of Samsung’s Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch software. It was distributed through Samsung’s beta program to selected Galaxy Watch owners, rather than released as stable public firmware. Samsung’s wider One UI 6 Watch announcement is available on Samsung Mobile Press.
The second beta concentrated on stability, battery behavior and application performance. The larger feature set—such as Energy Score and new workout tools—belonged to the overall One UI 6 Watch upgrade, not exclusively to Beta 2.

| Date reported | Models | Region | Build ending | What changed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| June 27–28, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic | United States and South Korea | ZXFB | Stability, reboot, battery and app-performance fixes |
| July 11, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro | South Korea | ZXG3 | Optimization, power, app and network-interconnection improvements |
| July 12, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic | South Korea | ZXG3 | Optimization, battery and app-performance improvements |
Coverage of the Watch 6 release is documented by SamMobile. The later Watch 5 and Watch 4 releases used the same ending but were separate, staggered packages: Watch 5 report and Watch 4 report.
#1 Best Overall
- Rotating Bezel Design: Classic rotating bezel enables precise control and smooth navigation.
What each Beta 2 build fixed
Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic: ZXFB
- Improved system stability.
- Fixes for unexpected rebooting.
- Better battery-consumption behavior.
- Improved application launching and execution.
- Additional bug fixes and optimization.
The reported package was about 434 MB, although Samsung’s download size could vary by model and region. The cited build carried the July 1, 2024 security patch; it was identified as One UI version 6.0 Watch.
Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro: ZXG3
The South Korean package focused on system optimization, lower power use, faster app operation and network-interconnection improvements. The reported download was 299.45 MB, and the Watch 5 coverage associated the release with the July 2024 security patch.
Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic: ZXG3
The Watch 4 package was reported at approximately 300 MB and emphasized stabilization, battery optimization and application performance. A known issue remained: Always-on Display could stay active when the watch was not being worn. That behavior made the beta unsuitable for anyone who needs dependable battery life.

Compatible watches and regional limits
The beta program covered the following Wear OS models:
- Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic
- Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro
- Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic
Samsung officially named the United States and South Korea for the beta program. Eligibility for the program did not mean that a particular Beta 2 build was available immediately. Samsung staged releases by model, country and connectivity variant. Early reporting centered on Bluetooth Watch 6 models; LTE variants could follow separately. Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra shipped with One UI 6 Watch and were not Beta 2 recipients in the same way as these older generations.
One UI 6 Watch is Samsung’s watch software layer, not the Android-phone One UI 6 release. Samsung’s broader compatibility information is available in its One UI 6 Watch announcement.

- Larger Super AMOLED Display: Expanded screen area with slimmer bezels for improved visibility and usability.
One UI 6 Watch features to expect beyond the bug fixes
Beta 2 itself was corrective, but the underlying One UI 6 Watch upgrade introduced or refined:

- Energy Score: a wellness insight combining sleep, activity, heart-rate and heart-rate-variability data.
- More detailed sleep analysis.
- Personalized workout routines and Race, which compares current and previous running or cycling performance.
- Double-pinch, Universal Gestures and faster horizontal scrolling.
- Expanded Modes and Routines controls and improved notification handling.
- Updated typography, interface refinements and improved Bluetooth-earbud integration.
Energy Score and related health insights require suitable historical data, Samsung Health, a compatible Galaxy smartphone and a Samsung account. Availability can also depend on country, phone model and software version. These features are for wellness and personal reference, not diagnosis or treatment, as Samsung explains in its feature qualifications.
How enrolled users installed Beta 2
- Update the Samsung Members app on a compatible Samsung phone and sign in with the Samsung account paired with the watch.
- Open the One UI 6 Watch beta announcement or banner and register if enrollment is still open.
- Open Galaxy Wearable and select the connected watch.
- Go to Watch settings.
- Tap Watch software update, then Download and install.
The watch restarts during installation. Keep the phone and watch connected, charge both devices adequately, maintain an internet connection and back up important watch data first. Samsung’s community instructions show the same update path: Galaxy Wearable update steps.
Rank #4
- Rotating Bezel Design: Classic rotating bezel enables precise control and smooth navigation.
If Beta 2 does not appear or installation fails
- No Samsung Members banner: enrollment may be closed, unsupported in your country, unavailable for your exact model or limited to another Bluetooth/LTE variant.
- Eligible watch, no update: the OTA may be staged. Check again later instead of sideloading firmware.
- Connection problems: reconnect the watch in Galaxy Wearable and verify phone internet access.
- Low battery or storage: charge both devices and free storage before retrying.
- Non-Samsung phone: Samsung described enrollment around Samsung Members and compatible Galaxy phones, so support on every Android handset was not guaranteed.
- Failed update: restart the phone and watch, update Galaxy Wearable and its watch plug-in, reconnect and retry. If it still fails, use Samsung support or official beta-exit options; do not install an unofficial package.
Should you install a watch beta?
Reasons to participate
- Early access to One UI 6 Watch features.
- Potential Samsung-provided improvements to stability, battery behavior and app performance.
- A way to submit feedback before the stable release.
Reasons to wait
- Beta firmware can cause crashes, reboots, connectivity failures, battery drain or app incompatibility.
- The Always-on Display problem remained on at least some Watch 4 and Watch 5 Beta 2 builds.
- Rollback can be inconvenient or unavailable.
- Health readings and software behavior should not be treated as dependable merely because the watch is a consumer health device.
For a primary watch, work device or health-tracking routine, stable firmware was the safer choice. Anyone testing the beta should back up first and be prepared to report problems through Samsung Members.
Current status
This rollout ended in 2024 and is obsolete as a current update story. Samsung has since moved to later One UI Watch releases; its device documentation now lists later software for some older models, including One UI 8 Watch information at Samsung’s update documentation. In 2026, owners should check the update page in Galaxy Wearable for the firmware actually offered to their model and region.
