Find Samsung Notes in the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store on a Galaxy phone or tablet. On a Samsung Galaxy Book, install it through Microsoft Store. Samsung says its Windows app is optimized for Galaxy Books and may not work on other Windows PCs.

Install Samsung Notes on a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Open Galaxy Store or Google Play Store on your device.
- Search for Samsung Notes.
- Choose the app from Samsung and tap Install or the store’s equivalent download button.
- Open Samsung Notes after installation. If it is already on your device, find it in the app list or search your apps for its name.
Samsung’s US support page links to both stores. Store listings and feature access can vary by region, device, and software version.
Install it on a Samsung Galaxy Book
- Open Start, then choose All apps.
- Open Microsoft Store and search for Samsung Notes.
- Select Get, wait for installation, then choose Open.
- Sign in with your Samsung account if you want to sync notes. Samsung says you can also skip sign-in during setup.
These are Samsung’s documented installation steps. The company cautions that Samsung Notes for PC is optimized for Galaxy Books and may not be compatible with other Windows computers. Check the app listing on your PC rather than assuming that a successful search or installation means every feature will work.

Sync notes between your Galaxy device and PC
Samsung’s documented cross-device route is Samsung Cloud sync. Sign in to the same Samsung account on each device and enable sync in Samsung Notes on both the PC and the phone or tablet.

- On the PC, open Samsung Notes and go to its settings.
- Choose Sync with Samsung Cloud and sign in to your Samsung account if prompted.
- Confirm that syncing is enabled in the PC app.
- On your Galaxy phone or tablet, open Samsung Notes settings and enable Samsung Cloud sync there, using the same account.
Sync depends on having the account and setting enabled on both devices; installing the app alone does not configure it.
Can Samsung Notes sync with OneNote?
Samsung’s support information is inconsistent across regions: its US page says Samsung Notes syncing to Microsoft OneNote is no longer available, while its Canadian page, updated March 18, 2025, still describes syncing selected folders to a OneNote feed. The Canadian instructions say notes in that feed cannot be edited or removed there. Because availability may depend on region or the current software, check the sync options shown in your device’s Samsung Notes settings. Samsung Cloud is the clearly documented route for syncing Samsung Notes between Galaxy devices and a Galaxy Book.

What you can do in Samsung Notes
Samsung describes Samsung Notes as supporting text, images, voice recordings, and music, as well as PDF import and export. Its UK product information also describes handwriting and drawing with an S Pen, highlighting, searchable tags, voice memos, and PDF annotation. Feature availability depends on the device and software; an S Pen is optional and only works with compatible models. Samsung’s UK product page notes that availability can vary by country or region, service provider, device model, and operating system version.
