For multitasking, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 has the stronger documented case: Samsung promotes its Multi Window features, and a reviewer reported running three apps at once without noticeable lag. That is not a controlled comparison with Google’s Pixel 11 Pro Fold, so it does not prove Samsung is faster or better in every workflow. For entertainment, both offer an 8-inch-class internal screen; the Pixel has the larger listed diagonal and a published peak-brightness figure, while Samsung highlights the Fold8’s 4:3 format for movies and games.
This comparison covers the 2026 Galaxy Z Fold8 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a separate model, not the regular Fold8 discussed here.
At a glance: Galaxy Z Fold8 vs. Pixel 11 Pro Fold
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 | Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold |
|---|---|---|
| Internal display | 7.6-inch main display, 4:3 format (Samsung, 2026) | 8-inch OLED; 2,076 × 2,152 resolution; 1–120 Hz; HDR (Google, 2026) |
| Multitasking evidence | Samsung promotes Multi Window; Tom’s Guide reported three apps running at once without noticeable lag | The cited Google specifications do not establish a comparable multitasking result |
| Peak brightness | Not stated in the cited Samsung material | Up to 3,600 nits peak on the internal display, per Google |
| Typical battery capacity | 4,800 mAh, per Samsung | Not stated in the cited Google material |
These are manufacturer specifications and a single reviewer observation, not results from a matched test of both phones. Display figures alone do not establish overall picture quality, and peak brightness is not the same as brightness sustained across the entire screen.

Which foldable is better for multitasking?
Galaxy Z Fold8: clearer evidence for simultaneous apps
Samsung explicitly positions the Fold8’s large screen and Multi Window feature for using apps together. In a 2026 hands-on review, Tom’s Guide reported running three apps on screen at once without noticeable lag. That makes the Fold8 the better-supported choice for someone whose priority is keeping several apps visible at once.

- UNTETHER YOUR ENTERTAINMENT: The long-lasting battery of Galaxy Z Fold8 is built to power hours of entertainment. And when you do need to recharge, Super Fast Charging 2.0⁴ gets you back to what you love quickly.
The qualification matters: the review describes the Fold8, not a side-by-side workload against the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. It is evidence that three-app use worked for that reviewer, not proof that the Fold8 handles every app combination better or that the Pixel cannot do the same.
Pixel 11 Pro Fold: specifications do not settle the app question
Google’s published specifications establish the Pixel’s internal display size and capabilities, but the cited material does not report a matched multi-app test. If your work depends on a particular set of apps, their behavior on the Pixel cannot be inferred from the screen specification alone.

Which is better for watching movies and gaming?
Both phones have an 8-inch internal display according to their manufacturers, though Samsung lists the regular Fold8’s main display as 7.6 inches while Google lists the Pixel’s as 8 inches. Samsung describes the Fold8’s 4:3 main-screen format as suited to movies and games. The Pixel’s OLED panel is listed at 2,076 × 2,152 pixels, with HDR and a 1–120 Hz refresh rate.
Those specifications suggest different strengths, not a universal winner. Screen size and aspect ratio affect how content fits, while the experience also depends on the video, game, app layout, and other viewing conditions. The cited material does not provide a same-condition comparison of image quality, gaming performance, speakers, or sustained performance, so it cannot establish which phone looks or sounds better overall.

Is the Pixel Fold screen brighter than the Galaxy Z Fold?
Google lists up to 3,600 nits peak brightness for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s internal display. The cited Samsung material does not state a corresponding Fold8 figure, so a numerical brightness comparison is not available here. A peak figure is a manufacturer specification measured under defined conditions; it does not promise that the display sustains that brightness across the full screen or in every scene.
What do the battery figures tell you?
Samsung lists the regular Galaxy Z Fold8’s typical battery capacity as 4,800 mAh. Samsung’s separate video-playback method note says its estimate used pre-release hardware, Bluetooth earphones, LTE defaults, and locally stored 720p video. Samsung also notes that actual playback varies with network, settings, video format, brightness, battery condition, and other factors.

That method note is not a comparative endurance test, and the cited Google material does not provide a directly comparable Pixel figure or matched battery result. Capacity and a playback estimate under specified conditions are not enough to rank real-world battery life between the phones.

- Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 if simultaneous app use is your main priority. It has explicit Multi Window positioning and a reviewer’s three-app observation, although there is no controlled comparison with the Pixel.
- Consider the Pixel 11 Pro Fold if its listed display details are your priority. Google specifies an 8-inch OLED screen with HDR and up to 3,600 nits peak brightness; those figures do not establish a universal advantage in viewing quality.
- Do not choose based on battery life alone using these figures. The available capacity and playback-method information is not a matched test.
Prices depend on country, storage configuration, retailer, and current offers; the available information does not establish a reliable global price comparison. Check current local listings for the exact configuration before buying. Also confirm you are comparing the regular Galaxy Z Fold8: Samsung’s Fold8 Ultra is a distinct product with different specifications.
