Samsung has announced Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on, open-ear Galaxy Buds model, but a UK release date and UK price have not been announced in the launch coverage available as of 4 October 2026. South Korea is the first confirmed market: launch coverage reports a 27 October 2026 release there for KRW 299,000.
When will Galaxy Buds On be available in the UK?
There is no confirmed UK release date. TechRadar’s 1 October 2026 launch report says Samsung had not provided a specific date for international availability; Seoul Economic Daily’s report gives the South Korean launch details but no UK schedule. Both sources indicate wider-market availability is expected to follow, without naming when.
There is also no confirmed UK price or substantiated UK retail listing in those reports. The Korean price is not a reliable way to predict a UK recommended retail price: exchange rates and local pricing do not establish what Samsung will charge in Britain.

What are Galaxy Buds On?
Galaxy Buds On are clip-on open-ear earbuds. Rather than sealing or plugging the ear canal, they sit around the outside of the ear. That design is intended to leave the wearer more aware of nearby sounds while listening, but it does not guarantee safety in traffic or other surroundings that require attention.
Launch reports say Samsung analyzed different ear shapes, adjusted speaker and battery placement, and used a wider contact area to distribute pressure. Those are reported design intentions, not independent findings about comfort, fit or security during exercise.

Which features and battery claims have been reported?
Samsung’s reported audio features include TwinBoost speakers, automatic volume adjustment and Audio Leakage Reduction. Seoul Economic Daily reports three microphones and a bone-conduction vibration sensor intended to help distinguish the wearer’s voice during calls. These feature descriptions do not establish how the buds sound, how well calls perform, or how much sound leaks in everyday use.
Samsung’s reported battery figure is up to 9.5 hours of music playback per charge. This is a manufacturer claim reported by the press, not an independently measured result; the reports do not establish real-world battery life or usage conditions.

Reported hands-free functions include voice access to Gemini Live, quick voice memos and head gestures for call control. The launch coverage does not establish all the phone, software or regional requirements for those features.
What does the open-ear market context tell buyers?
Omdia’s 17 September 2026 market release estimates that open wireless stereo (OWS) shipments grew 12% year over year to 11.1 million units in Q2 2026, while conventional true wireless stereo shipments declined 2%. Clip-on products accounted for 61% of OWS shipments in that quarter. Separately, total true wireless stereo shipments fell 0.7% year over year to 82.1 million units.

Omdia attributes the category shift to demand for open-ear designs and identifies comfort, audio and call quality, and suitability for different use cases as competitive factors. Category growth does not predict whether Galaxy Buds On will suit a particular listener or prove successful.
