Samsung has already brought back its Ultra laptop: it announced the Galaxy Book6 Ultra on January 5, 2026, as part of the Galaxy Book6 lineup. Samsung said US and UK/Ireland sales would begin March 11, 2026. The Ultra is the series’ high-performance model, with discrete RTX graphics; the Galaxy Book6 Pro is positioned as the more portable option.
When did Samsung announce the Galaxy Book6 Ultra?
Samsung unveiled three laptops—the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6—on January 5, 2026. Its announcement was published the next day. This replaces the earlier “in the works” framing: the Ultra is an announced and launched product, not just a reported development project. Samsung’s announcement describes the lineup and its engineering features.
Samsung’s US newsroom announced availability beginning March 11, 2026. Samsung’s UK newsroom gave the same purchase date for the UK and Ireland, following preorders that began February 25. These are launch dates; they do not establish current stock or sale pricing.
How much does the Galaxy Book6 Ultra cost?
| Market | Launch pricing stated by Samsung | Availability stated by Samsung |

| United Kingdom | £2,999 starting price for the configuration listed in Samsung’s UK announcement | From March 11, 2026; preorders began February 25 |
These are regional launch figures, not a promise of today’s price or a like-for-like price for every configuration. Check Samsung’s local product listing for current offers, availability and the exact specification sold in your market. Samsung US launch details and Samsung UK launch details give the regional terms.

What are the Galaxy Book6 Ultra’s key specifications?
Samsung’s US product page describes an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor, RTX 50 Series graphics options and an NPU rated up to 50 TOPS. Samsung cautions that NPU performance may vary by processor. The Ultra is aimed at intensive creative and technical work, including 4K video editing and 3D design; Samsung positions the Pro as the lighter, more portable choice. Those are the company’s positioning claims, not independent benchmark results.

The memory figures differ across Samsung’s regional materials: its US product information describes configurations up to 32 GB, while the UK/Ireland table lists 32 GB and 64 GB. Samsung also says memory is not upgradeable after purchase. Choose by the configuration offered in your market rather than treating one region’s maximum as universal. Samsung’s US Galaxy Book6 Ultra product page and the UK announcement’s specification table provide the regional details.
How does the Ultra differ from the Galaxy Book6 Pro?
The clearest distinction in Samsung’s materials is the intended balance: the Ultra is the performance-focused choice, with RTX 50 Series discrete graphics options, while the Pro is described as the more portable model. That makes the Ultra the more relevant candidate for workloads that can use dedicated graphics, while the Pro may suit someone who prioritizes carrying weight.

Samsung advertises up to 30 hours of video playback. Its US product page describes a pre-release test using local 1080p video, 150-nit display brightness, airplane mode and wireless connections disabled. That is a manufacturer test under specified conditions, not a real-world runtime guarantee; actual battery life varies with workload, settings and configuration. The UK/Ireland specification table lists an 80.20 Wh typical battery.
Samsung’s US product page says the laptop can charge to over 65% in 30 minutes, while Samsung’s global feature story gives a figure of up to 63% in 30 minutes. Because those claims differ by source and may reflect different markets or configurations, neither should be treated as a universal charging result. Samsung also says cooling efficiency improves 35% over the previous generation; the cited material does not provide the underlying benchmark details for that comparison. Samsung’s global feature story outlines its performance, thermal and battery claims.
Quick Recap
Who should consider the Galaxy Book6 Ultra?
- Consider it if you need a Windows laptop with discrete RTX graphics for creative or technical work and value the listed high-resolution AMOLED touch display.
- Compare it with the Pro if portability matters more than the Ultra’s performance-oriented positioning.
- Check the exact local configuration for memory, graphics, ports, price and availability; Samsung’s listings vary by region.
- Wait for independent testing if your decision depends on comparative performance, sustained workloads or practical battery life. Samsung’s product claims do not provide independent competitor benchmarks.
