The vivo T5 Pro 5G has the stronger listed display specifications, a much larger battery and higher-wattage charging. The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G offers a more varied rear-camera setup and a clearly stated software-support commitment. Neither set of specifications proves which phone lasts longer, takes better photos or feels faster in everyday use. For a fair price comparison, check the same RAM and storage configuration at the same Indian retailer on the same day.

These figures come from official India product and store information. They describe listed hardware and manufacturer commitments, not results from a comparative hands-on test.

On paper, the vivo T5 Pro has the edge in both resolution and refresh rate: its listed 2800 × 1260 panel runs at up to 144 Hz, compared with the A36’s 1080 × 2340 panel at up to 120 Hz. The vivo screen is also listed as 6.83 inches, versus Samsung’s 6.7-inch-class display.

That comparison does not establish which screen looks better. The cited specifications do not settle brightness, color calibration, viewing conditions or how noticeable the difference is in ordinary use. If screen quality is a deciding factor, look for side-by-side reviews that assess those qualities rather than relying on resolution and refresh rate alone.
Battery capacity and charging: what the numbers tell you
The T5 Pro’s listed 9,020 mAh capacity is substantially larger than the A36’s 5,000 mAh typical capacity, and vivo lists 90 W charging compared with Samsung’s 45 W. These are capacity and charging-power specifications—not measured battery life or a promise of a particular charging time.
Actual endurance and charge duration depend on factors such as usage, settings, temperature and charging conditions. The official material cited here does not provide a controlled A36-versus-T5-Pro battery or charging test. If you need a dependable estimate of screen-on time or minutes to recharge, seek independent tests conducted under comparable conditions.

Samsung lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP wide camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP macro. vivo lists a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera and a 2 MP bokeh camera. Samsung therefore lists more distinct rear-camera roles, including an ultra-wide option, and specifically identifies OIS for its main camera.

For selfies, vivo lists a 32 MP front camera and Samsung a 12 MP front camera. Megapixel counts and camera roles do not, by themselves, demonstrate image quality. Look at sample photos and video comparisons—especially in the conditions you care about—before choosing based on cameras.
Software support: Samsung states a specific commitment
Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A36. Its India product page gives March 31, 2031 as the date until which security updates are valid. Samsung’s India launch announcement, dated March 2, 2025, also described this commitment as a focus on software longevity. See the A36 specifications and launch announcement.
The official vivo material cited for this comparison does not establish a directly comparable support duration for the T5 Pro. That means the duration is unverified here; it does not mean vivo offers no updates. Check vivo’s current India support information for a specific commitment before treating software longevity as settled.

Before deciding which costs less now, compare matching RAM and storage at the same retailer on the same date, and check the seller and any conditions attached to an offer. The cited figures do not establish current prices for every listed configuration.
Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose the T5 Pro for consideration if the higher listed resolution and refresh rate, larger battery capacity or higher charging wattage are your priorities—and verify real-world screen, battery and charging performance with independent tests.
- Choose the A36 for consideration if you value a listed ultra-wide camera, OIS on the main rear camera, or Samsung’s stated OS and security-update commitment.
- Decide on cameras by samples if photo or video quality matters more than camera count or megapixels.
- Decide on price using live, matching offers rather than subtracting the historical Samsung launch price from the observed vivo store listing.
The official specifications support a comparison of features, but not a universal performance winner. The better fit depends on which features matter most and the current price for the exact configuration you would buy.
