The Nothing Phone (4b) has a slightly larger display and a newer listed processor, while the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is reported to offer a longer operating-system update period and adds a macro rear camera. There is no reliable single price difference to quote: the available prices are for different countries, currencies and configurations, and Samsung’s cited US MSRP list marks its A36 entry as end of life.
How the Galaxy A36 and Phone (4b) compare
The specifications below come from 91mobiles’ comparison and should be treated as reported specifications, not independent performance or battery tests. Regional configurations can differ; Nothing’s official product information, for example, identifies a 6,000 mAh Phone (4b) variant for India.
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy A36 5G | Nothing Phone (4b) |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, 120 Hz | 6.77-inch Super AMOLED, 120 Hz |
| Processor | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 5 MP macro | 50 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide |
| Battery capacity | 5,000 mAh | 5,200 mAh in the comparison; Nothing also identifies a 6,000 mAh India-only variant |
| Software at listing | Android 15 | Android 16 |
| Reported OS and security support | 6 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates | 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates |
The display, processor, camera, software and update-support comparison is from 91mobiles. Nothing’s official Phone (4b) product page confirms the 5,200 mAh general capacity, India-specific 6,000 mAh variant, 50 MP main camera and 4K video. Check the manufacturer specification sheet for the exact model sold in your country before relying on a regional detail.
What differs in everyday use?
Display and processor
On the listed specifications, the Phone (4b) screen is 0.07 inches larger diagonally, and its processor is one generation newer within the Snapdragon 6 series. Those differences suggest where the hardware specifications lean; they do not establish a benchmark, gaming, or real-world speed winner.

Cameras
The comparison gives both phones a 50 MP main and 8 MP ultrawide camera. It also lists a 5 MP macro camera for the Galaxy A36 5G, which the Phone (4b) configuration in that comparison does not include. Megapixel counts and camera availability alone do not show which phone takes better photos.
Battery
The comparison lists 5,200 mAh for the Phone (4b) and 5,000 mAh for the A36 5G. Capacity is not a battery-life test: screen settings, network conditions, software and regional hardware can affect how long a charge lasts. For India, Nothing identifies a 6,000 mAh Phone (4b) variant, so do not assume every market’s model has that capacity.
