An unlocked phone and a carrier-branded phone can follow different schedules. An imported Galaxy A05s may also continue following the software schedule associated with its original sales region or CSC. That is a likely explanation when two phones with the same retail name show different update availability, although the exact cause depends on the device configuration.
Samsung warns in its regional One UI 6 documentation that supported functions and update details can vary by model, country, and network operator. A missing update therefore does not automatically mean that the Galaxy A05s is unsupported.
What did One UI 6.0 change on the Galaxy A05s?

- The Share panel displayed picture previews at the top.

SamMobile also reported changes involving Samsung Gallery, Photo Editor, Video Editor or Samsung Studio, Battery settings, and Samsung Keyboard sticker tools. Those additional changes should be treated as reported features rather than a guarantee that every A05s variant exposes every option.
One UI 6.0 does not guarantee that the Galaxy A05s receives every feature seen on a higher-end Galaxy phone. Samsung states that functions can differ by model, country, and carrier. Flagship-only features, Galaxy AI functions, and later One UI 6.1 or One UI 7 features should not be attributed to the original Galaxy A05s One UI 6.0 upgrade without model-specific documentation.
How do you check for the Galaxy A05s Android 14 update?
Use the phone’s built-in software updater first. The normal OTA path is safer than manually installing firmware because Samsung selects the package for the phone’s software configuration.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Review the offered Android version, One UI version, and security-patch information.
- Install the update when the phone has sufficient battery and a reliable Wi‐Fi connection.
If the phone offers Android 15 or a later supported update instead of Android 14, install the newer official update if the version, notes, and device configuration are appropriate. A phone that has already progressed to a later Android version does not need to install the original Android 14 package separately.

What should you do before installing the update?
Prepare the Galaxy A05s before starting a major software upgrade because the download and installation can take time and the phone will restart.
- Back up photos, videos, messages, documents, and other important data.
- Connect to dependable Wi‐Fi; SamMobile estimated that the original package could exceed 1.5 GB, although the actual size depends on the current software version and region.
- Charge the phone sufficiently or keep the phone connected to power.
- Free enough internal storage for the download and installation.
- Do not power off, disconnect, or otherwise interrupt the phone during installation and reboot.
The update may be larger or smaller for a particular device because an OTA package depends on the software already installed. The “could exceed 1.5 GB” estimate is associated with the original rollout report, not a universal file-size requirement for every Galaxy A05s.
Why is the Android 14 update missing on my Galaxy A05s?
A missing Galaxy A05s Android 14 update usually indicates a staged rollout, a different model or CSC, carrier timing, insufficient storage, or software that is already newer than Android 14. Check the following items before assuming the phone was excluded.

Most Galaxy A05s owners should use the official OTA updater rather than manually flashing Android 14. Manual installation through a Windows computer and Samsung’s Odin tool is an advanced alternative that can introduce model, CSC, regional, recovery, and interruption risks.

A wrong firmware package, an interrupted flash, or a mismatch between the package and the phone can cause software problems and may affect warranty or support. The original rollout report mentioned Odin, but that does not make manual flashing the preferred solution.
Only consider manual flashing after verifying the exact model number and CSC and obtaining firmware intended for that configuration from a trustworthy, verified source. Do not use a generic download link or tell an SM-A057G owner to flash SM-A057F firmware. If the phone works normally, waiting for the official OTA release is the lower-risk choice.
