To remove Samsung Calendar, open Settings > Apps > Calendar and check which action your phone offers. Choose Uninstall to remove the app if available, Disable to stop a preinstalled app while leaving it installed, or hide it if you only want its icon out of sight. The available controls vary by Galaxy model and software or app version.
Choose the right kind of removal

| Disable | Stops a preloaded app from running and removes it from the Apps screen, but leaves its files installed. | Uninstall is unavailable but Disable is offered. |
| Hide | Removes the app icon from the Home and Apps screens; the app remains installed. | You want a cleaner screen or removal controls are unavailable. |
Samsung notes that some preinstalled apps can be deleted, some disabled, and others only hidden. Menu names and layouts can vary by device model, software version, and app version; follow the labels shown on your phone. Samsung UK’s guide, updated 26 May 2026, describes these variations in its preinstalled-app instructions.
Uninstall Calendar if the option is available
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Select Calendar. Use the app-list search if your phone provides one and Calendar is not immediately visible.
- Tap Uninstall, then confirm.
On some phones, Samsung also documents an app-drawer route: touch and hold Calendar, tap Uninstall, and confirm. This works only if that control is offered for the app.
Disable Calendar when it cannot be uninstalled
- Go to Settings > Apps > Calendar.
- Tap Disable, if shown, and confirm the prompt.
Disabling is reversible: return to Settings > Apps, select the disabled app, and tap Enable. Samsung explains the difference between uninstalling, disabling, and enabling in its Galaxy app-management guide.

Hide Calendar if you only want its icon out of sight
- Open the Apps screen.
- Tap More > Settings > Hide apps on Home and Apps screens.
- Select Calendar, then tap Done.
To show it again, return to the same menu, deselect Calendar, and tap Done. Hiding changes where the app appears, not whether it is installed.
Remove a calendar from view without removing the app
If you mean that you do not want to see a particular calendar or its events, leave the Calendar app installed and change that calendar’s display setting instead. Samsung Calendar can show calendars connected to accounts such as Google or Outlook.

- Open Calendar.
- Tap Menu > Manage calendars.
- Turn off the display switch for the calendar you do not want shown.
Samsung’s guidance also says synced events can be hidden or deleted through the original account service, and Calendar sync for an account can be disabled. These actions affect visibility or syncing; they are separate from uninstalling the app. See Samsung’s guidance on using Calendar and managing account calendars and handling events that cannot be deleted.
Check event storage before changing sync
Uninstalling Calendar does not itself delete events from the account where they are stored. Events may remain in Google, Outlook, or another source account and continue to sync to other devices. Before changing sync settings or deleting anything, identify the event’s source and confirm whether you need it on other devices.

For Google Calendar sync, Samsung’s documented path is Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Google account > Sync account. Samsung warns that incorrect Google sync setup can result in events saved on the phone or in the Google account being deleted. Its Google Calendar sync guide, updated 22 May 2026, also notes that available menus may vary.
Do not clear Calendar app data as a routine way to remove the app. Samsung presents clearing data as troubleshooting for event issues, not as an uninstall step; it resets app data. For event visibility or sync problems, consult Samsung’s Calendar event troubleshooting guidance.
