The Ryujinx compatibility labels show how far a Nintendo Switch game got in testing and whether problems affected play. Playable is the strongest rating, but it is not a guarantee for every computer or emulator version; check the game’s notes and the entry date.
What do the Ryujinx compatibility labels mean?
The historical community list defines five main statuses. Read them as a progression from a game that does not start to one that reaches gameplay with few or no listed problems.

| Menus | Gets past the title screen, but not to main gameplay | The game starts, but testing did not reach gameplay. |
| Boots | Starts, but does not get past the title screen | Startup begins but does not progress to menus or gameplay. |
| Nothing | Does not boot | Testing showed no startup or other signs of life. |
These definitions come from the Ryujinx Game Compatibility List repository. The repository’s label descriptions summarize the categories more briefly.

Playable means the game met the list’s practical standard for an enjoyable experience: it booted and played without crashes or GPU bugs at a reasonably enjoyable speed on an average PC. It is the best of the five basic labels, but it is not a hardware benchmark or a guarantee that your setup will reproduce the result.

What does Ingame mean?
Ingame means the title reached gameplay but had a significant reported problem. The label does not say which problem occurred. Read the individual entry for details: the issue might be a crash, a graphical defect, audio disruption, a deadlock, or performance slow enough to interfere with play.
What is the difference between Boots, Menus, and Ingame?
The distinction is how far testing progressed. Boots stops at the title screen; Menus gets beyond that screen but not into main gameplay; Ingame reaches gameplay, though notable defects may remain. Nothing indicates no successful boot, while Playable indicates gameplay meeting the list’s stronger experience criteria.

How should you use a compatibility entry?
- Find the exact game entry. Check its title identifier, status, issue notes, and last-update date. Compatibility information can be specific to a title and can become dated.
- Read the issue notes, especially for Ingame. The status alone does not tell you whether the problem is visual, audio-related, a crash, or poor performance.
- Compare like with like. The repository requests reports using an official master/main build, with hacks, mods, and cheats disabled. A result under different conditions may not be comparable.
- Treat the status as a snapshot. It records observed behavior, not a promise for your hardware, a later Ryujinx build, a changed game version, or a different configuration.
Is the Ryujinx compatibility list current?
The community compatibility-list repository was archived and made read-only on April 20, 2025. Its status vocabulary remains useful for interpreting historical entries, but an old entry should not be assumed to reflect current software or game versions. The Ryujinx site says the full compatibility list can be viewed in the emulator; the available sources do not establish whether that in-app data follows exactly the same rules as the archived repository. As of October 7, 2026, the Ryujinx site reported approximately 4,300 titles tested, more than 4,100 booting past menus into gameplay, and roughly 3,550 considered playable. These are the site’s approximate project counts, not independently verified live totals.
