You can’t subscribe to a Steam Workshop map through the Epic Games version of Rocket League’s built-in menus. Epic’s documented installation steps do not describe a native Workshop browser. An unofficial community loader offers a workaround for importing maps and playing them in Free Play, but its current compatibility and safety are not established.

What are the options for Epic Games players?

Option What it supports Main caveat
Rocket League on Steam Subscribe to a Workshop map; Steam downloads it; open it in Rocket League under Extras > Workshop. The game’s December 7, 2016 version 1.25 notes describe this Steam PC feature. This is the documented Steam-specific integration, not a feature of the Epic client.
Rocket League on Epic with a community loader A public community-loader repository describes importing Workshop map archives and loading a selected map in Free Play by replacing Labs – Underpass. It is unofficial. Current compatibility, archive-service availability, and safety have not been established.
Rocket League on Epic without a workaround Epic’s installation instructions explain how to install the game through the Epic Games Launcher. The page does not document a native Workshop subscription or map-browsing path.

That distinction matters: an Epic player cannot simply subscribe to a Steam Workshop item and expect it to appear in Rocket League’s built-in Workshop menu. The loader method below is a third-party workaround, not a feature supported by Epic or the Steam integration.

How the community-loader workaround is described

The repository’s instructions are for loading a map into Free Play. They are not independently verified here, and the tool or its steps may not work with the current game version. Check the repository’s current documentation before changing files.

  1. Find the Rocket League map you want in the Steam Workshop.
  2. Use the third-party Workshop-download service linked from the repository to obtain the map archive. The service’s current availability and safety have not been established; only download files from sources you trust.
  3. Save and name the archive in a folder for your maps, following the loader’s current instructions.
  4. Open the loader, locate your Epic Rocket League installation folder, and import the map folder.
  5. Select the map in the loader. The repository says this method replaces the Labs – Underpass map.
  6. Start Rocket League, open Free Play, and select Labs – Underpass to load the replacement.
  7. If the replacement is broken or unplayable, the repository documents a Reset Game Files control to restore the original Underpass map.

Because this process uses third-party downloads and changes a map file, keep a backup and follow the loader’s current recovery instructions. The repository’s reset warning and steps describe that project’s behavior; they do not establish that every map or game update will work.

What Easy Anti-Cheat means for maps and mods

In its April 28, 2026 announcement, Rocket League says Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) is required for online PC play. Community mods do not run while EAC is enabled. The announcement says Steam Workshop maps themselves are playable with EAC on or off, and advises turning EAC off when running mods on top of that content.

Those statements do not confirm that this Epic loader works with every EAC setting or game update. Its repository describes a Free Play map-replacement workflow; it does not establish compatibility with online matchmaking. Do not treat the workaround as an online-play method.

Bottom line for Epic players

For the documented subscribe-and-download Workshop flow, use the Steam PC version. On Epic, the repository describes an unofficial route to load a map in Free Play, but whether it works now is uncertain. Review the project’s current instructions and understand the file changes and recovery steps before trying it.
