No. Riot said the desks used at VALORANT Champions Shanghai were custom fabricated for the event and were not made, supplied, or sponsored by Secretlab. Secretlab’s role was to support Champions with chairs. Riot also attributed mouse interference to components in the desk construction and later reported no mouse issues after desk tops were swapped, while saying it would keep monitoring.
Who made the Champions Shanghai desks?
Riot said it custom fabricated the desks for the tournament. In a statement reported October 2, 2026, the VALORANT Champions Tour account clarified that Secretlab had not manufactured, supplied, or sponsored them. Secretlab’s community manager said the company supported Champions with chairs and was not the VALORANT Champions Tour’s desk partner. Insider Gaming reported the clarification and the two statements.
Why were players reporting mouse interference?
Riot attributed the interference to the desks’ materials, specifically metal components in their construction. On September 26, 2026, Riot’s Global Head of VALORANT Esports, Leo Faria, said the investigation had identified those components as the cause, adding that Riot had applied a temporary fix and was rebuilding the desks. Dot Esports reproduced Faria’s explanation.

Riot first asked players to use wired mouse connections while it replaced the custom metal desks with desks made from a different material. After the desk tops were swapped, Faria reported that there were no mouse issues and said Riot would continue monitoring. That is a status update attributed to Faria, not a guarantee that the problem could never recur. Insider Gaming reported the post-swap update; Dot Esports reported Riot’s earlier response.
What was the separate FUT versus 100 Thieves ruling?
In the FUT Esports versus 100 Thieves match, FUT player xeus experienced an issue that affected his ability to fire. Riot’s post-game evaluation concluded that a round rollback should have been allowed, and Riot said it took responsibility for that error. It also said the match result would stand after considering the available options. Dot Esports reported Riot’s statement.
This ruling is separate from the desk-sponsor clarification: it concerns how Riot handled an in-match incident, not who supplied the desks.
